If someone sneezes in the elevator and you are the next one on, it is quite dangerous.

This is true even in the public streets.

Fellow humans who can't control their basic unsanitary behaviour when sneezing, coughing or maintaining distance from each other in public, even now they do not follow the rules.

At any given time, there are more morons in the elevator than at the pool.

I am going to guess that the elevator is an essential service as most of the morons in your building cannot live there w/o it...

Most of the people in my condo are young.  Some of them are out of shape, but none of them wouldn't benefit from a good stair climb.

How does one stifle a sneeze, as this can have dangerous consequences and is not doctor recommended.

No problem.  We have a system much like this guy uses.

It works great!  My son hauled 15 cases of Corona Beer just yesterday.

I'm fairly sure I know "WHICH" country I am in.  No matter how many times I said the word Chlorine to our dumbass manager, she kept repeating how the water was unsafe.

I agree with you. Chlorine kills bacteria, which on average are 10 - 20 times the size of a virus. Oxidizing viruses would be a doddle for chlorine.

You are in a country where scientific education is almost nonexistent, because that might give dangerous knowledge to the masses. You are attempting the equivalent of explaining colors to a blind person. Move on.

Because the elevator is necessary to reach your room and the pool is not. I also think it is ridiculous not to open the pools but the government can obviously not afford closing elevators in apartment buildings

Not anymore. If you've been using the elevator the past month almost certainly you've been exposed to copious amounts of the virus. And assuming you haven't been sick you've developed immunity.

Don't agree? Get yourself tested. You will find antibodies popping out of your butt. Congratulations, you have become a C-19 superman. All thanks to the elevator you are hating on.

Elevators give rise to localized micro-herd immunity. Look it up.

That is possible, but I never enter it unless wearing an N95 mask.  I don't allow others to get on when I'm in it.  When out, I strip off all clothing and take a shower upon entering my condo.  I've been doing this for 3 months now; I'm a pro.

I tell my grandson, that stupid people will put you in danger, and might get you killed.  Never bow to the perpetually stupid.

The idiots that wrote that sign are from SMART property manager.

It's a pity their true nature has nothing to do with their company name.

I want the elevator closed.

Opt with your feet and refuse to use it. Walk up and down. Simples

Your pool is not safe because people gather round it and drink booze.

Your elevator is safe because cleaning staff disinfect it once a day.

Sorry, I'm just passing on official thinking, if that's not an oxymoron.

Actually in my building the area around the pool is not closed and has become a place for residents to go to get some fresh air and the area around it has become a walking track. The pool itself is closed which in this case makes no sense because a chlorinated body of water where no virus or bacteria could live would be the safest place on the planet to be.

The elevator is a necessary equipment to transport passengers in the building.

The pool is for recreation and socialising.

I'm sure person's responsible in the building are doing what they can to put in some rules to maintain safety for most everybody and not just a selfish few.

As I understand it, it is up to the building management as to whether the pools are open or not.

Maintaining, cleaning and staffing the pools costs them money.

Now, why are the pools closed?

Salt and chlorine pools kill all germs and bacteria. A sauna kills all germs and bacteria. The gym is supplied with disinfectant to wipe down surfaces. There are some 250 people who supposedly have COVID and they are all in hospital. There are only a few cases found a day in the whole country and the virus is no more dangerous than the flu. Why are we still shut down? Will the government pay my annual maintenance fee for the services I am not receiving?

easy to disinfect the elevator (small area) compared to the much larger pool area 555

you can't police peeing and spitting in pools, but if someone spit or <deleted> or leave any bodily fluids let alone fart in an elevator, you should be able to tell

Peeing in a pool will not spread Corona virus. The pools are closed to avoid congregation and encourage people to stay in because the is no place to go.

I am willing to walk 5 flights.

I walk up and down six flights two at a time non stop a few times a day when I am at my hotel in the UK, unless of course I am carrying something heavy, then I use the lift.

Because I am eating UK food and extra goodies that I cannot buy in Thailand, I tend to come home about two Ks heavier.

You seem like a worrier. Take a chill pill and relax. How long is an elevator ride and how many of the people standing in the elevator with you have sneezed or coughed or even touched you? Comparing an elevator ride with gatherings around a public pool is ridiculous.

Yes I agree it can be dangerous, especially if they Shatt themselves when the backpressure of the sneeze hit....yep dangerous for all.

Did all these Chinese use elevators in their hotels when they all piled in to Pattaya? The 1st and 2nd floor rooms were probably reserved for them.

If they cr@p and pee on the taxis, kerbs and airport trains, then what chance have the elevators got. ????
