Manit Phromdee

One of the five teachers accused of raping a 14-year-old student has insisted he had no hand in the alleged crime and has left Mukdahan, where the incident took place, for his hometown in Nakhon Phanom province.

The 33-year-old’s uncle, Manit Phromdee, 77, also said that his nephew is very timid and humble by nature and it is difficult to believe he may have had anything to do with the alleged sexual assault.

Manit said the teacher had told him that he was having drinks with other teachers when they called a girl to join them. However, he insisted he did not touch the alleged victim.

Why oh why, would you do such a stupid thing?

Unless they were drinking ice tea or other non-alcoholic beverage.

And why run away, if you were innocent?

Seems the guys who claimed the girl made it up need to eat some humble pie. Lot of males here seem to think females are out to get them.

Greetings,

In this case, I believe the students are telling the truth, the teachers must face the justice and suffer the consequences of Thai Criminal Law!

Lol

The evidence is starting to become overwhelming I suspect. These disgusting perpetrators will be needing clean underwear every day from here on in.

It's always the quiet ones...

First, schools are closed. He didn't run away. He went home like all the other teachers.

This is a sad story and I hope it's not true, but I'm a firm believer in innocent until proven guilty.

Pulled that one out of the air did you? If your evidence is on TV, it's not very reliable. I don't follow Thai news except what's published here so I really cannot, will not comment except on the hot air speculations.

Yes, they should all have to pay 500 baht and wai!  The usual fine for bothering the police!

Night curfew is b/c Thais can’t manage their alcohol consumption in a responsible way...

make night curfew permanent - lots to benefits to society

Or, maybe fled to avoid being strung up by the angry villagers.

I don't think there is enough information in the news reports for any of us to assess his guilt or innocence, but 'running away' is proof of neither.

Just to make my stance clear. I think that all scenarios are possible (teachers/girl/family lying) but, if teachers have inappropriate relations with a pupil, they should be punished most severely.
