Popular Post Ventenio
LOLOLOL. This is the job I want. HEADLINE: MASSIVE STORMS COMING In the year 2073, there will be storms in Bangkok during the month of June. In 2097, there will be flooding in Chiang Mai during the month of May. I have three weather apps on my phone, they are all "right," but practically wrong. 80% of rain, nope. 90% of rain, nope. 1 percent chance of rain, yup. 3

Popular Post damascase
There is no accurate weather forecasting for even the next day here in Thailand, so the above isn’t worth much more than telling the people that there will be rain during the rainy season......... 8

billd766
I feel the same as you do. Either somebodies crystal ball is way out of calibration, or they have been drinking too much loopy juice. As for quote “The Thai Meteorological Department expects a lot of rain from mid-May to October,” Dr Somkiat Prajamwong, ONWR secretary-general, said. “Hence, we also need to discuss with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the authorities of nearby provinces such as Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan and Pathum Thani about clearing their drainage systems.” What have they been doing for the last 4 or 5 months? They could have been clearing the klongs and canals and dredging for the first 4 months of the year. I check the weather reports for Khampaeng Phet province daily for the weather and for the last 2 weeks predictions it said that there was a 10/20/30 % chance of rain and thunderstorms. Last night we had the thunder and lightning a about 5 minutes of rain which just dampened the soil. That was in rural Khampaeng Phet. Since December 1st last year until yesterday Khampaeng Phet weather centre has had 58.8 mm of rain, 45.5 mm fell on one day, 27th April.

Popular Post CGW
Flooding! some bloody rain would be pleasant we have had two decent rains since September, bout 5 weeks since the last downfall, moderate though it was, been 40°c+ for weeks now and looks to continue that way ???? Weather forecasting is all about putting data into a computer nowadays, the more data you put in the more accurate the forecast will be! I think TMD has resorted to their backup machine! 3

Popular Post owl sees all
The water situation up here is desperate. But what's the use of moaning? Soon the planes with the chemicals will go up, and spray onto the clouds, and there will be rain a plenty. Saw it on the television last night. Or, we could all pray at the same time for rain. Needs a bit of co-ordination that, but well withing the Thai authorities' capabilities. I predict rain sooner rather than later. Or later rather than sooner. Let's all have a beer.

mfd101
Sometimes you see a glimmer of light in Thailand, and then along comes some blithering idiot calling himself a 5* general or a Director-General or a Surgeon-General or a Secretary-General, entirely unselfaware, and the light goes out again and all is dark.
