Just got an email from Emirates

Funnily enough I received one from KLM today with a link to a video guide. KLM doesn't appear to have gone to the same extremes as Emirates, no hazmat suits and you can take hand luggage.

Though I very much doubt I'll be flying anywhere much for the next 12 months, and certainly not back to the UK or Europe.

No hand luggage ......that's going to save airlines money and time,

will it return to normal ?

Personally I'm not too concerned about the no hand luggage. We ( Thai wife ) and I travel back for business and have everything we need here and in the UK without lugging gear around the world.

However, what's going to be the rules for buying duty free, and what is the reasoning behind this anyway?

We are due to go back in September, but if they continue  making a less than enjoyable journey even more painful then I'll delay.  Thankfully Emirates are waving change fees which are normally £300 each.

On a slight tangent, if Thai Air can't operate I can see Emirates having reasonably full flights once there is a relaxation on entry/exit to countries.
