Are food places staying open later from June 15?

Featured Replies

A few food places I frequent late night:

  • Friendship Supermarket (used to close 2:30am)
  • Family Mart / 7/11
  • McDonalds (all branches closed)

Just curious if you guys know if these places will stay open longer or not.

Updates on other food places are also welcome.

You will have to find out on your own. Do those shops think it is worth it and they will have customers? Then they will open, otherwise not... same with the restaurants, although at least those can not sell alcohol again with the food

I suspect they will make their own decisions as to whether it is viable... obviously as curfew is being withdrawn that is out of the way.

From June 15 restaurants are allowed to sell alcohol and the curfew is lifted, but the emergency decree will still be in effect.

Some are open, some are choosing not to. If and when more tourists come more will open. A search on Google should tell you for an individual place.

large restaurants need tourist numbers, there are many small restaurants that have a customer base of expats and retired that will have more flexibility and have been operating throughout the last 5 months

The question remains - when is a bar not a bar because it has a food licence and sells food - there are many that fall into that category across Pattaya - whether there is a big enough customer base to operate in profit is unknown - I doubt it, a lot of them also rely on occupancy of rooms - sporting events etc
