I am 100% in favour of prosecuting any and all found guilty of taking part in the Holocaust, no matter their age, no matter how minor the role. Any firms involved should be completely stripped of all assets. I really didn’t think anyone would be so dense as to need that explaining.

The mess for many of these countries started when The British, French, Portuguese, etc. pulled out.

Some of them until now are not capable to run their country alone and efficently, s they still have a mentality like in tribes.

You are asking if I would push for reparations for slavery I did not suffer from?

 

Surely the ones to decide that should be those whose families suffered from slavery?

 

Personally, if I had inherited from a slavery background I would give up that inherited wealth, without a qualm. Should point out I have inherited nothing from any such source or any source for that, so the point is moot. 

Give them the market value if their homes, a bunch of flowers and a big card saying sorry.  Them fly them all back to Africa business class.

 

Then give the place back to its original native people. Everyone happy.

Americans created Liberia in the 1820's for ex slaves to go back to their homeland, or at least home continent with the capital named after Presindent Monroe. Strangely few ever took up the offer!

Got to admit, it makes it sound so much better 

 

They were two totally different things. Indentured servitude was a bit like car leasing.. And it was voluntary: not ideal but better than starving at home. If you were captured and sold overseas it was slavery. Trouble was they tended to have the same 'drive it like you stole it' attitude.. They were paid at the end of the contract so rather better to make sure they didn't get that far. The African slaves were an investment so looked after far better than their white English or Irish indentured predecessors.
