PHUKET: Pubs and bars across Phuket must wait until Monday (June 29) before the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) at Government House in Bangkok will announce whether or not, and under which rules, they may open from July 1.

The news was announced by Natapanu Nopakun, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information and Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the English-language report of the CCSA’s announcements today (June 26).

what about the rest of Thailand?  when do our pubs reopen?

The government, on Monday, after the cabinet meeting will announce yes or no and when nationally.

BUT THEN it is up to the individual provinces whether to open or not.

The more open, the better, share the customers & keeps them further apart.

Not that there are many but with restaurants now open masquerading as bars they

are not obeying the law anyway

With only domestics around I can't see that the major venues will re-open, financially there's just not enough people to make it viable, some of the smaller bars in prominent positions might make a go of it using limited staff to see how it goes.

Many restaurants have been open for a while, now with the advantage of being able to sell beer, they are full of the normal bar/club customers looking for a drink with a snack.

He also assured that pubs, bars and clubs in Patong’s Bangla nightlife district would reopen regardless of whether or not they could implement all 22 rules.

Why? More rules than potential customers at the moment!
