Bangkok Protests tonight

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any updates (maybe from wives' Thai social media or the news) on the protests down at Democracy Monument tonight (July 18th)?

Is it a true protest and what is it regarding.  GF's Facebook page has people out at that location but nothing being said, just photos with lots of police, live stream being conducted but then there is also something happening in Siam Square as well.

A political protest, demanding a change of Government and organized by a group called “Free YOUTH", is underway at the Democracy Monument in the centre of Bangkok, despite an emergency decree being in force, due to the #COVID19 pandemic. (1) #เยาวชนปลดแอก

GF just told me there are groups out near Khao San Road as well....unsure of the issues she said.

Dang, what do these people want? Democracy? Jeez, next they'll be wanting right to free speech, right to representation, ... Just goes downhill from there.

Just saw the quick break on the news, looks like its a sit in now with speeches being given, and the police just standing there doing nothing. Someone was delivering pizzas within the crowd.....lol

As this is breaking news and there has not been any news topics posted so far about this protest, please be advised that political discussions are not allowed in the Bangkok Forum as per the following policy:

Policy In Bangkok Forum Regarding Thailand Election/Political Discussions:

Non-political topics in "Bangkok Forum" which are hijacked with political arguments will see posts removed without further notice.

Members who cannot comply with our request will risk a posting suspension.

It is requested that members standby for some news about this which should be posted on Sunday morning in the Thailand News forum.
