How long are you in Thailand?

And you still think there is a "Why". 555

I think your 'Why' is taken out of context. ????

@pilotman   where are you? If you are in Pattaya got a place. I am a cheapskate so bought a Honda CRV 2 wheel drive. I still wanted the sound/video/GPS that the 4 we have so got a guy to install a Chinese copy system and front and back cameras. Did a near wiring job and specialises in this type of installation.

He's got a small shop as you come off the bridge from Banggers into Patts. on LHS. Sign says 4 Wheel Drive or something like that. Got bullbars and car lights/radios etc in shop. Get a quote and talk him down a bit.

Why try and fine someone for doing 91kph in a 90kph zone, and why decorate a bridge in the middle of a long weekend? Rhetorical question.

as long as they try to find a substitute.............. it will always remain " Amazing Thailand "

Chocolate fireguard syndrome.

(mine was only 900 baht, fitted it myself)

anyone with half a brain can fit a bog standard dash cam. One that records your speed data needs to be connected to a GPS system, have a GPS input, or have that incorporated into it.  You don't get those for 900 Baht.

My 900 baht bargain bin special does all AND does my eggs over easy that but I seriously doubt the average plod is going to pay much attention. All my 900 baht (and your 2000 baht) chocolate fireguard will get us is a longer, ultimately ticketless dick-about when we get pulled over. They don't magically make all cops honest and make all shakedowns and fines disappear. But if you do break the speed limit, they can make your journey even longer.

It's not exactly rocket surgery either.

Well done, now you have the experience if you have a few hours spare could you bob around and fit mine, its been in the box 2 years now!

Appreciated

Maybe @EVENKEEL can send down the unused half of his brain to do it for you?

Only 2 years already? You can see how absolutely essential THAT purchase was.

I can see where you're coming from. I agree that it's always best to acknowledge and accept ones limitations.

I have had cops turn away and wave me through when they look into the car and clock the camera.   That can't all be coincidence.

I know mine, I just wish others acknowledged theirs.

Extra Note from my experience with dash cams. I've got windscreen and rear screen vacuum attach cameras. They tend to come unstuck if the car is left for a while in direct sunlight. Also the large SUV rear door if slammed (by guests) dislodged them.

I think I would go for a combined rear mirror camera set up next time.

I've had SOME cops do that too but not ALL cops.

Going between Korat and ubon H24.
pulled over in BuriRam for doing 119km/h. BIB at the roadside desk suggested not going above 110 to avoid being stopped.
after that it was 120 to 140 all the way home.
A week or so later received two letters c/w photos of excessive speed, both in Surin I think.
went to my local cop shop and was advised not to bother paying as I’d already coughed up that day.
Nothing more heard, but have kept all the docs.
seemed a fair deal

albeit the law, 90km/h is ridiculously low.
JMHO

more importantly, Arsenal for the cup????

500B ! It was a standard 200B a couple of years ago. Inflation is rampant in Thailand

Was 100 quite a few years ago .... when the 500'S were the size of an A4.

Really my point was that I feel for the my countrymen here, the Thais. I am only a guest, but they have to put up with this <deleted> and they know it's <deleted>.

Doing 100kmh in a 90km zone, OK fine me. But not 91kmh.

Creating a huge traffic jam on the first long weekend with Covis, to put up birthday decorations. Put the decorations up before the long weekend. A bit of thought and care about fellow countrymen from these people with power would be nice.

mate of mine was fined and 3 points on his licence for driving at 32 mph in a 30 mile an hour limit. That was in UK ! <deleted> happens
