Republican convention heads to White House as Melania Trump takes spotlight

It really looks like we need a "I hate Trump forum" as anything even closely related to the guy brings out the haters.  It seems all the haters have no life outside of hating on Trump while living in Nakon Nowhere.

 

I think I'll head to the beach now, it's a beautiful day in Phuket.

Perhaps a reasoned debate taking out terms like "haters/ apologist/ could lead to an objectively weighted discussion. Facts and not rhetoric, policies debated not lambasted because they do not fit with a particular narrative. Would that more "adult" ?

The White House should not be used in any election campaign. It is the People's House and the POTUS resides there as a privilege due to his office paid by the People.

This was an unbelievably emotional and truthful endorsement.  I, too, emigrated to the U.S. and have witnessed it's steady decline over the decades into a nanny state where people must be controlled and regulated in every aspect of their lives.  I don't blame only Democrats but Republicans as well for the destruction of freedoms and the right of people to follow their hearts in their pursuit of happiness.  When my favourite holiday, Halloween, fell under the strict regulation of bureaucrats, claiming falsely that it was necessary to take personal responsibility away from the people and hand it over to them in order for them to keep me and others safe, there was no more doubt in my mind that a once great, free and independent country was choosing to treat it's citizens as mere children incapable of forming their own destinies.  I got out before the mass brainwashing of people to sheepishly and unquestionly accept and obey their "superiors" dictats became as overwhelming as it is today.  I got out not because I was, at the time, unhappy with my life in the U.S.  It was because I had found that Thailand offered many freedoms that the U.S. had long ago and steadily onward been vanquished and purloined from it's people.

 

Listen carefully to a man that I dare any Trump-hater on these boards to call a phony, a Trump acolyte, or in any other way disparage via their blind hatred.  This is a true American.

I knew back in 2007 when Obama was campaigning that he was nothing more than an empty suit and I said so on TVF at the time.  He was a political activist and community organizer out of Chicago.  Chicago, of all places.  He had worked his way up into the Illinois Senate.  I will admit that Obama was blessed with a unique skill set perfectly tailored to the deceptive world of politics, foremost as a gifted orator.

 

I call Biden an empty suit as well.  But, unlike Obama, Biden is utterly lacking in the skill set which Obama possessed.  He is devoid of aura, is a poor orator, lacks sincerity, and as with Hillary he comes with too much baggage.

 

Harris is a mere political opportunist who knows how to play the game but doesn't even play it well.  She will shamelessly and unethically shift on any issue for the sake of political expediency.

 

What is both humourous and sad to me is that so many people here are actually convinced that Biden and Harris care about them.  My experience throughout many decades has me stupefied that election after election after election people still believe what comes out of a politician's mouth.  As George Carlin famously quipped, "It's a big club and you ain't in it."  Yet so many people, laughably, believe they are in it.

Wouldn’t it be great if Melania, in her speech, would turn against Trump and the Republican party and nail them all to the cross? I have zero interest in watching any of the speeches at the RNC, but I would gladly make an exception for that.

Interesting melania spoke about online bullying while trumps fingers were poised on the twitter screen. Everything she said that was bad was what trump does.

What I found interesting is I heard her speech was not vetted by the White House/West Wing. She really COULD have said anything.
