There have always been cases in Thailand. The only place that I have come across someone with symptoms was in a Thai bar just off Ratchada soi 17 in March, a girl with a persistent cough.

  • think there is a problem here ?????

Guess my GF and I better quarantine ourselves for the next 14 days, We had been to the bars on Khao San road 3 times and to the one little disco they have the weekend of the 20th to the 22nd, enjoying the wine bar and the week before we were in the Rama 9 clubs as well.  Guess we will wait for the contract tracing to work its way to us.  Funny thing is when I went to the Mall today in Silom, i got a 403 Forbidden pop up when I tried to log into the Thai Chana App.  Uh-Oh

Could you sanitise your hands and wear a mask before posting on these forum for the next 14 days ?

Thanks

I admit.. I am amused about it. Som nam na! I hope they finally will react wisely this time (even I doubt it!). The reality is (and I can say that for Europe) that the virus is much less lethal now, as people have adapted to it. In Europe now just 0.1-0.3 of the new cases die of it.
Let’s say Thailand would have 0.5%. With 12.000 people who died on Thai roads in 2019 (around 33 per day), that means that there would have to be around 6.600 new cases per day to equal the daily road deaths.

It’s just a simple calculation! I would prefer TH to have a few active cases so that the population finally would accept and admit that it’s not the super deadly virus they think it is!

Stock up on booze boys. The only logical reaction to this is to ban alcohol and keep everyone at home for a month.

All in the name of national security of course.

Especially all those vulnerable students who are in dire need of some national security what a well timed second wave, what a coincidence?

The prisoner has been sent to hospital, while the 34 prisoners who were in the same cell are being quarantined.

In another news source they state the other 34 prisoners all tested negative

if that's the case I am sure Thai's are immune to COVID because you can't share a small cell with 34 other people and not infect 1.

Or he's a false positive.

I think "403 forbidden" is code for "super spreader. So you might be one of those dirty super spreaders we used to hear about.

Does this mean there will be a whole new amnesty and Immigration's plan to charge 1900 baht per month will go down the drain?

Highly likely that it swept through prisons long time ago. Perfect breeding ground. They could test for antibodies, but ... "too expensive". Better buy a few more submarines.

Oops, and I was going to travel this weekend for the 4 day holiday and play Songkran, so I think I may just go to the Temples instead and visit with the thousands of others, ensuring that I mingle closely, Sarcasm dripping from this post.  Guess my Med certificates for my annual physical and blood work will be no good then for my DL.....back to square one I think.

Why use the term dirty farang? Are you trying to be offensive or funny or ironic.

I agree with Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin and The Public Health Ministry and Department of Disease Control in whatever they decide.

I doubt it very much. Some contributions on this forum come from people who dont live here and only know the place via sensational false headlines.

Some Politician used those words and posters now use it to appear to be witty

Well darn, guess they'll have to uphold a national emergency status and make certain no opposition groups take to the streets in protest, as it's not safe. Bummer of a coincidence. ????????

That politician happened to be Anutin, who commands the Ministry of Public Health, the ones "taking care" of covid.

I see that sense of humour bypass operation was a success.

Just seen on the BBC news that prominent protestors got jailed today in Thailand and a protest rally has been planned for later this month .

Now there has been a Covid discovery , Thailand can get shut down again .

Lucky coincidence for the Gov
