Anyone managed to get a new extension letter this month from Canadian embassy?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Anyone knows their new stance on this? I didn't hear from anyone whether they are still issuing them or not.

Also would it help if one's country of residence is different than Canada? Last time I mentioned this, they asked for proof, after which they emailed me the letter. But that time everyone was getting a letter anyway.

So not sure what the situation is now.

Thanks.

Got one in Aug. No problem

That's great news! You got it for the Sep 26? Do these have a validity period?

Also did they ask why you need one? I would appreciate any details or at least via PM if private.

I will contact them on Monday then.

So what was the reason you got the letter? Please tell!

I tried getting one, explaining that my education visa would not be ready when the amnesty was over so they gave me some weird <deleted> answer about why they don't have to give me one.

My only knowledge is that the Canadian Consulate is not issuing extension letters, the only explanation coming via someone who got this response: "The visa extension letter is not existing anymore."
