Free Haircuts

Featured Replies

My regular barber has be opening irregularly since the end of lackdown and today was closed. My Sister-in-law took me to Wat Lok Moli on Manee Nopparat road for a free haircut. It is a long term project to raise temple funds.

It appears to be men only and the haircuts are performened by volunteers or possibly trainees under supervision of an experience barber.

The young fellow who did mine was painstaking, stopping frequently so seek approval or advice from his mentor. The result is good althlough it took a long  time.

Wat Lok Moli is on the north side of the moat just East of Computer Plaza. The haircuts are free but a donation to temple funds is expected.

Went to my barber today, Bht 50, took 20 minutes, thats 150 a hour. How much should he give to the monks.

This is how people who are becoming barbers get experience. Usually they give free hair cuts at schools, orphanages, hospitals etc. but i guess at a temple like in your report is also an option.

now there's an oxymoron...????

Sounds like the free massage "offer"

Free haircut, if no donation, the monks will curse you for eternity

Ill donate my freshly cut locks for the bald monks to make a hansum toupee

50 to support the program and temple or 100 to really support the program.

I got a free haircut during the shutdown- my wife used the dog clippers on me.  I looked pretty good- not as good as the dog, of course, but not bad.????

Last time i paid for a haircut was 7 years ago.

My wife cuts mine, does a damn good job of it.

I could see what was going to happen at the start of lockdown so I bought hair clippers before they sold out and now my wife does it for me she also does a great job and shaves my neck.

Waiting for Immigration to announce the "Elite Haircut Visa Program". Simply deposit 500K baht at the temple of your choice and get 30 day extension plus free haircut

My wife has only just finished cutting my hair this morning, always looks great. ✔️

The only other female who has cut my hair, was my sister when I was 14. It was a disaster! :w00t:

After the haircut, my lovely wife made this for me:
