Connecting green pvc pipe to blue pvc pipe, possible ? If not, how to use green pipe without heating tool ?

Connecting green pvc pipe to blue pvc pipe, possible ? If not, how to use green pipe without heating tool ?

hi, I want to change a part of a green pipe hose, it seems that a heating machine should be used, but I don't want to buy the machine for a single use.

Is there any solution or is it possible to connect the green pvc pipe to a blue pvc pipe ? There is no reason to use a green pvc pipe here, no hot water, no pressure, but i don't want to change it all for blue pvc.

What can I do ?

Thank you for your help.

Let's try this in DIY.

The green pipe isn't PVC, it's HDPE. Generally it's joined by heating with the special tool and you need an adaptor to join it to PVC. There are push-fit couplers for HDPE plumbing, but I've not seen them here.

Easy solution? Find a plumber who has the necessary tool.

Could probably get away with compression fittings from the lawn and garden section of watsadu or global. The black flex pipe used for irrigation is HDPE if I’m not mistaken.

The question is confusing. Are you talking about green flexible watering pipe (no heating tool commonly available) that uses clamp fittings. Or are you talking about green PP-R pipe that has a heating tool to weld junctions but also has push on fittings.?

In both cases there are fittings for attaching rigid blue PVC pipe

If there's no pressure or hot water running through then just use the correct PVC glue.

The blue PVC glue will be sufficient if applied correctly.

Or if you don't want a permanent fix then use a brass hose clamp and clamp them together.

You can not glue PP-R pipe to PVC pipe you will need to use a screw connection.

There is no glue available for PP-R it’s either a push on fitting or a heat weld fitting.

Small hose clamps are almost always steel or stainless steel, brass is a poor material for a hose clamp.

There is inexpensive flexible thick gauge pipe available to go over different size pipes and a couple of jubilee clips job done.

You still haven’t made it clear if your Green pipe is the rigid PP-R or the flexible green garden hose.

for both kinds the answer is, yes you can buy the adapters.

I assume the blue is rigid PVC.

yes blue is rigid pvc and green is rigid green, but i haven't found any adapter and both watsady and homepro staff are as smart as usual, so they just know nothing even when explained in thai by a thai and photos shown !

Very few places have the push fit PP-R fittings, and when they do the selection is limited. You probably want the push fit versions of the yellow ones but may have to use the blue ones 58AD5DA2-4597-4D73-A84A-28EF0C0C7E34.thumb.jpeg.f9f42179d3e45e1d9c7b33af940054d2.jpeg

if you use the blue ones you will need a rotating coupler in PVC

you will also need the matching PVC one preferably with a metal thread

you may have try Global House, DoHome, Thai Watsadu, HomeHub, HomePro etc

Assuming the OD is the same, these work very nice and are available at most places, but be advised that if the pipes are not secure, under high pressure one pipe can blow out. They wont leak even under high pressure, but the pipes need to be clamped down or oriented such that they can't move.

They're great. Perfect for making your pumps and filters easily removable and replaceable and can be used over and over for temporary setups and whatnot.
