Video: 18 wheel trucker high on Ya Ba chased 40 kms over three Korat districts

A truck driver high on amphetamines was chased for 40 kilometers through three districts of Nakhon Ratchasima in Thailand's north east after he went through a checkpoint without stopping. 

 

The drama started at the Chok Chai district checkpoint when the chase began. It continued into Chakkarat district along route 226.

 

Finally a contingent of 20 police in Phimai district commandeered two trucks to block the road.

Driver Naret, tried to run off in the area of the Samrit municipal offices but was soon nabbed. 

 

He said he had picked up a load of cassava in Udon.

 

He had just taken some Ya Ba (methamphetamine mixed with caffeine in tablet form) and was worried about being caught for that so he drove off.

must have seemed like a good idea to him at the time,lock

My Thai police captain friend was killed by one of these tossers doing the same stuff.....????

Makes you wonder how many commercial drivers do this daily?

Correction to Title: It was a 10 wheel truck with a 12 wheel trailer. That's a 22 wheel truck.

I'm surprised he didn't crash into the commandeered trucks used to block the road.

Looks like normal Thai driving to me, not sure why he was arrested! 55555 

Its a good job the cops didn't have something obscuring their view whilst driving at high speeds.. (if they had it could have been disastrous!)
