Agree that no party has ever committed to giving expats an annual rise to their pension but the ball is in the Tories court and has been for a number of years now.

When you have a referendum and the majority wins only bitter losers of the remainers would call it "stolen" 

I can't remember Labour doing much for frozen pensions either, but there again Brexit is not about our pensions in Thailand, nor is it about people who have taken a dive in their own portfolios.

No dive in my portfolio. I have always adhered to the policy of screwing someone over before they screw me over. Hence, I receive the annual rise to my pension plus winter fuel allowance plus Christmas bonus. Up yours Boris!

I think the E.U. budget, without the important contribution of the U.K., was fixed after 4 days of negotiation somewhere in September.

Of course it remains to be seen what impact it will have on the daily life of the man in the street in Europe.

Same as what impact the savings the U.K.  by not paying further contributions to the E.U., will have on the daily live of the man in the street, in the U.K..

What on earth make people think the EU will ever agree with this kind of policy, manipulating the C of O regulations it would open the door to exporting low quality product to the EU.

MPs were also denied a vote on a key measure designed to help prevent the likes of chlorinated chicken from America entering Britain.

It seems to me that chlorine washed goods only becomes a problem when originating in the USA, when tainted goods or your chlorine washed salads comes from the EU it is ok, hypocrisy at its finest.

'Fast Food Nation' by Eric Schlosser has a particularly gross chapter called something like 'There is s&*t in your burger'. Basically, the author explains that the slaughter methods used in US abattoirs is so high speed, it is  essentially impossible to prevent contamination of meat with faeces. That is what the EU regulations are trying to prevent. 

 

I fully support the premise of the article that the EU is in no position to preach, but we shouldn't simply throw our hands in the air and accept even worse because we are struggling to get our own house in order. We should constantly seek better, not cash in on the worst on offer because it suits the agenda of a narrow few.

 

Brexit was, I understand, about betterment. US food policies are patently worse - that some seem to want to embrace this retrograde step would be genuinely bewildering, were in not for their slavishly enthusiastic support for our useless, corrupt PM. It is clear that they will support no end of debasement and degradation for our people as long as they get their precious Brexit - absolutely nothing is more important, and everything can be sacrificed at its alter.
