Anutin just comes up with stuff people in the tourism business wants to hear. Open up for "mass tourism" but with "certain measures" is total nonsense. Those two don't go hand in hand. Either you open up the country or you don't.

People are getting desperate.  Everything they have spent a lifetime building is on verge of being lost, if not already and the next few months "high season" are critical to everyone.

 

 

These stooges are trying to offer a glimmer of hope.  They have no real plan or solution but if they can just instill little bit of hope it will give some one out there a reason to hang on for just little while longer.

Every person I know wants to get back here.  Even the haters seem to hate where they are now more.

There are millions of sexually active/frustrated men around the world chomping at the bit to come here.

Been talking with several of my friends back home dating 60 year old ladies who disgust them, but it is the only option.

So glad I am here and not there.  No major Covid, young sexy girls, and inexpensive golf.

I'm on a flight towards warmer destinations as soon as i can, but i don't think it will be Thailand this winter.

My bet this winter, will be that Europe starts to divide each country into zones, so that if main spain as an example has a large spike, then the canary island or balaeric island might be open if they have low numbers.

 

People are dying to travel here.

Some of our largest travel agencies in Denmark reported all sold out in this weeks "fall vacation"

People are flocking to greece, Rhodes and Cyprus and they had to insert extra planes to keep up with demand.

 

So just because there is covid 19 across Europe, does not mean we're not travelling.

And if Thailand was open i bet a lot of eiuropeans would go there.

I know i would, but not with the current restrictions they plan.

They would never issue such a blanket statement for the whole world when there are obvious differences in the situation across countries and even regions within countries.

 

People with agendas of their own are deliberately distorting words spoken by one WHO official in an interview (not an official WHO position statement ...one individual talking) and further distorted what that person said.

And Uncle Tu is so full of confidence that he has issued a State of Emergency. The Ministry of Incompetent Tourism has absolutely no idea of what he is doing apart from making it extremely difficult to come to Thailand. So all is well and 40m tourists will return to Thailand in 2030.

Since 2014, that is what has been missing from the government, charm.  cha cha would second that motion of charm, but he is having to fend off an assault on his charms at this time.  He called a state of emergency handle it.    If you cannot negotiate with your own countrymen, how do you charm the world?

If your reopening includes tracking bracelets, tracking monitors, not interacting with thai citizens, only low risk countries with no covid for 30 days countries, high priced asq, tons of paperwork, quarantine at home before you arrive and pay before you get accepted then please stay closed. 

If you still have a quarantine in place then you might as well let anyone in will to  quarantine.

Its all about perception really. With the economy reeling statements like this are only made to try and stop the economy going into total free fall. They have no more intention of actually opening up to mass tourism than anybody else does, but when your economy is reliant on it then you have to keep banging out the rhetoric.
