"Under Consideration" for Oct 26. Can I go a couple days later?

Featured Replies

I have an under consideration stamp to return on October 26. Is it ok if I show up a couple days later? Thanks in advance.

No it's not ok

If I was you I would definitely show up on the stamped date as that is the day immigration is expecting you...will have their paperwork done regarding the extension.  To show up late without a very good reason for being tardy could imply you don't really care about the extension, have low respect for immigration laws/rules, etc.

I've heard of several people who went after the date and had no problem. But confirmation from someone knowledgeable like ubonjoe would be helpful. Thanks.

Why they put stamp in your passport if they dont care when you go there!? What you think other stamp's in your passport from Thailand "don't need care"!? Go on time!

The report back date is only that. You can a day or so early or late if needed.

Some people have gotten them for days immigration is closed.

Everything is about the local immigration office. No one can answer your question unless someone has visited the same office for same reason. There's a reason you got that date stamped in your passport. You can always pretend you're clueless and get away with it.

I rung my immigration office the day before my Consideration date stamp expired and they told me not to come in until the following week as they were very busy. I went in 5 days after the date stamp and there were no problems at all.

I would suggest you ring your local immigration office to see what they say.

I now deliberately go back a couple of days late as for the past 3 yrs they are never ready and/or they have stamped a date which is at the weekend or a bank holiday. They never check and only chase HQ up when I go in.
