This happens every year.  Either the local government 'restricts' if/where/when floating lanterns can be lit, or say that flights had to be cancelled due to...

 

The Thai government should just have Loy Krathong as a "Flight Black-Out" date ...if they really cared about the Thai People and their desire to set fires in far off distant locations.

Certainly not last year. But when have kon muang and tourists strictly followed the Khom loi rules?
