Move Forward disappointed with court verdict in media stakes case

Move Forward Party leader Pita Limjaroenrat said in a Facebook Live broadcasted at 8pm on Wednesday that although he is disappointed in the Constitutional Court’s verdict to suspend party MP Thanwarin Sukkhapisit, it was not unexpected considering a similar verdict against Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, leader of the now defunct Future Forward Party, back in November 2019.

 

The Constitutional Court ruled on Wednesday that 29 coalition lawmakers were innocent of accusations they had stakes in media companies.

 

Thanwarin was however suspended for what the court ruled was a lack of clarity. Six other MPs who were facing the same charge – three from the coalition and three from the opposition – resigned before the ruling.

 

Last November, Thanathorn was disqualified as an opposition MP after the court ruled that his 675,000 shares in V-Luck Media violated the Constitution.

 

“I am honoured to have had a chance to work with Thanwarin, who has been fighting for human rights and sexual diversity. I believe he has proven himself to be a true member of parliament,” said Pita.

 

“Although he is no longer an MP, he has become a symbol proving that we can achieve our dreams no matter how oppressed we are. We will continue to work on what he has started, and Thanwarin will always have a special place at the Move Forward Party,” Pita added.

 

Meanwhile, Thanwarin said he believes he did the right thing in fighting for equal rights for the LGBT group, and that he is not hung up on the MP position.

 

“I want to tell everyone who shares the same ideology that I am not going anywhere and will forever remain a representative of the people,” he added.

This party has the best minds in Thailand and it's abused by the old dinosaurs and their feeders. Thailand would really take off if it let the younger modern thinkers who know the truth about the nation take over. The greed of the backwards class at the top knows no end. Thailand is not a free nation so long as the people can't get the truth, facts and choose their leaders. It's just a creation of those who always control the power and mainstream media, information and educations of the masses. What have they created? More for their own families than for the nation, the Thai people. What a waste of talented minds.

The current government shooting the country in the foot is to be expected.   It will just make the disillusioned youth more so.   Oh, but wait, cha cha is going to start a reconciliation panel.   The country is saved.   The junta's talk is never in line with their actions.

Speaks volumes about the state of Thailand.

     The Prime Minister has stated he will never quit whilst the country is in crisis, guess that means the crisis will never end, as the PM appears to be the major problem. 

    So much has gone downhill since the coup, and it appears the justice system has gone down with it, its no wonder so many Thais are waking up to the realities of this unfairly elected Government. The so called leaders are too Chinese to understand Democracy.

The courts and the Election Commission here seem to be more partisan than the Supreme Court of the United States. Why does anyone take any notice of their rulings? Ah, the law is sacrosanct. Is it? How come the 29 coalition people got off?

today he was charged with lese majeste for criticism he made in january of the government vaccination program

It is a disgrace - not one of them is wearing a yellow tie, no big bouquets in front of them, not one uniform! All that unexplained wealth openly displayed. How can they expect people to vote for them? Clearly all 6.25 million who voted for them were  mislead, and the courts will have to take that into account in removing them from politics.

 

They are the very antithesis of "good people".
