Getting bridge mode with TRUE will probably depend on the CPE Service type, area provisioning doctrine, and how well you communicate the need for bridge mode to customer support.

Past TRUE customers have seemingly accomplished acquiring a bridge mode configuration, while others struggle primarily because of the CPE service type, CGNAT provisioning, or lack of willingness from TRUE to even discuss the possibility.

I did that a couple of years ago by myself. I didn't have any help from TRUE.

Sorry, I don't remember any details.

When I upgraded to gigabit, 3bb needed to upgrade the router. I already had a gpon terminal connected to my own router and wireless AP - I just showed them my own existing network kit, first they setup their router, showed me the speed tests then put it into bridge mode and did another speed test - something was wrong, they made a phone call, changed a setting and I was able to get the near the same speed from my kit as from their huawei router combo.

Even if you are capable of putting the router in bridge mode, for some reason, this is the kind of thing these companies like to send a technician for. I would just let them.

I put my 3bb in bridge without any problems. Did this a few times already. I was more specifically asking if it was possible for true. I now know it can work but help might be needed.

As mentioned in another thread I have with True.

It seemed that originally it needed them to make an adjustment at their end but I am not 100% on that and in my mind does not make sense.

The other thing was that when they later upgraded the speed and supplied a new router they then needed to change it as the later/higher feature set router they had switched me to did not offer bridge mode.

Just get your friend to tell them that is what he wants and make sure he asks for the router admin credentials just in case.
