Video: Thick black smoke fills the air in afternoon fire at plastics factory

Firefighters tackled a blaze at a polypropylene factory in the Map Ta Phut Industrial estate yesterday afternoon.

The fire was in a storage silo for plastic pellets at the HMC Polymers company, one of Asia's biggest producers in the field.

NPC fire services had it under control within an hour.

Staff were evacuated to safe areas.

Bupphaphan Phanthong of the company reported that the first started around 4 pm.

Just think about 100 modified Isuzu trucks with the cheapo (Ladaza) fuel injectors.... Same same. ????

I have witnessed Trash burning Fire emitting as much Smoke as that.

They dont make the Press Headlines.

Reminds me of the neighbours 20 year old Mazda firing up every morning.

Even the Soi dogs move away.

It would be extremely interesting to know  how a fire started in such a silo !

In pellet form  and inside a  silo  it would take more  than a cigarette butt to ignite them !

Maybe an electric motor burnout on a feed  auger but that would be an extreme  chance.

At least they had it out within an hour. That's good.
