A 28-year-old Phayao resident who went to work at the 1G1 entertainment venue in Myanmar’s Tachilek district in early November, illegally entered the country on November 27 with a Myanmar national. A motorbike picked her up at the border to deliver her at Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai bus terminal at 3pm, where she takes a taxi to the Big C department store near her home in Phayao at 6pm.

She goes out again on November 28 at 9pm to grab dinner, wearing a mask at all times.

On November 29, her boyfriend accompanies her to an outdoor Singha beer garden. They park their car at 8pm and seat themselves, but do not go near the stage. They then return home at 11pm, before heading downtown and checking in at Hop Inn at 4am. Later the same day they drive to Chiang Mai.

She takes a taxi to the  Big C department store near her home in Phayao. There is no Big C department store in Phayao.

They then return home at 11pm, before heading downtown and checking in at Hop Inn at 4am. There is no Hop Inn in Phayao.

Did she ever leave Chiang Rai before she travelled to Chiang Mai?

Yes, unfortunately again a ''journalist'' not doing his basic job

it takes around 1 minute to verify the information on internet

so no any excuse except lazyness

Good that those positive people don`t seem the most intelligent ones! The whole idea of sneaking in is to stay quiet afterwards for some time. So why they went to test with no/mild symptoms? Guess it`s an effect of the Thai scaremongering "whoever gets symptoms will probably die".

It just shows..with so many green borders, it`s impossible for TH to keep the numbers at 0 until the pandemic is over. My guess is rather, that TH will sooner or later see a very low second wave with 1-20 /per day, which wouldnt be any problem at all.

Why aren’t details released about them sneaking in? And countless others?

is immigration involved in under the table handouts? Or is the border that porous?

Gov has a role in this either - negligent or accomplishes...time to expose the gov’s role....

Sheesh. No problem disappearing anti-government activists. Or charging schoolchildren with 'protesting'. But people illegally entering the country, who know they are infected, Meh. Kindly stop doing that.

Finally, they've got to identify these people by name with photos (mask temporarily removed) to aid those who may have crossed paths with them.

No community transmission reported from this, so the boyfriend is immune.

...well there is no deterrent whatsoever from the Ministry of Health ..(now children be careful when you sneak into Thailand illegally)...what !!

They should be detained in custody for a months isolation, then prosecuted..this is far more serious than some les majeste breach.

These people who sneek across the river into Thailand are doing a great job for the people in need of drugs and booze they raise funds to help the police to deliver a better service

Mask wearing is definitely on the decline generally. Went to DaHome store yesterday in Surin & the number of staff not wearing a mask was shocking. Also on Koh Phangan & Koh Samui recently there were very few Thais & farangs wearing masks.

150 Thai nationals seek to return home as Covid-19 infections rise in Tachilek

As many as 150 Thais who work or live in Myanmar’s Tachilek district have asked for permission to return to Thailand via Chiang Rai, Dr Opas Karnkawinpong, director-general of the Department of Disease Control, told the press on Thursday.

In addition, more than a million health volunteers will be deployed to knock on doors to see if anyone has sneaked across the border from Myanmar.

Maj-General Narit Thawornwong, commander of the Pha Muang Force, said on Wednesday that he had met with relevant agencies to come up with a plan to block crossings via the second Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge in Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai district.

Right...already holes in the story and no doubt nobody will ever know the truth let alone be able to accurately trace...which makes you wonder if all Thailand is claiming in regards to NOT having in country positive cases is actually true

Thailand doesn't do mass populous testing like western countries do, so obviously it's easy for them to lie about everything all this time. Why in God's name anyone would believe this pile of <deleted> they keep feeding us is beyond me.

Beyond, it amaze me that the government believe that this virus only is attracted to farangs and not Thai people..Farangs need to be 14 days quarantine and Thai people don't' have to do it.

Thais have to quarantine for 14 days as well.  These did not because they snuck back into the country to avoid going into quarantine.  You need to get your facts straight green light.
