Cambodians arrested in Sa Kaeo paid just 2,500THB each to enter Thailand illegally

A military detail near the Thai Cambodian border in Ta Phraya district of Sa Kaeo found two Cambodian men hiding in a deserted house. 

 

Krerm, 32 and Jet, 18, said they had come from Rayong and were trying to return to their homeland. 

 

Their temperatures were found to be normal.

They were found to have entered Thailand illegally contrary to Covid-19 protocols. 

 

They said they had paid a Thai man - they didn't know his name - 2,500 baht each to be spirited across the border.

 

They were handed over to the Ta Praya police for prosecution.

Wonder whether the 2,500 THB "fee" included transportation for the 400 km there from the Cambodian border (mostly likely in the bed of a pickup, I suspect)?
