I have some photos stored on Google Drive. If I click on a particular photo (jpg format)to open it I am getting directed to https://free-music.freebusinessapps.net/ which asks me to "select the music file you want".....Peculiar??? Perhaps an app I have used before sometime.  If I right click on the photo I get a drop down with one of the options being "Open with.." If I click on that I get some options, the first of which is "Free Music" which is the same as https://free-music.freebusinessapps.net/ again. Other options shown are...Cloud Convert, which brings up options that confuse me, Google Docs, in which the photo actually loads but in the Docs page which isn't satisfactory, and under "suggested apps" Doc-Hub-PDF sign and edit, which loads the photo ok. There is another option given which is to connect more apps, which if I click on that asks me to search apps.

This all confuses me, and I would like to ask how I should go about perhaps downloading an app which will just show the photo when I originally left click on it.

My laptop is a chromebook, hence Google Drive is where my photos are stored.

Any help will be gratefully received. Regards.

Yes, what you say is a bit confusing.

You could try installing XnView for Chromebook and see if it solves your problem.

(anyway, doing this will not do any damage)

Thank you #ravip. I went to Play Store and searched for XnView and of course I got a list of many apps but XnView was not one of them. The first option was XnConvert which had the same icon as XnView from your link, so I downloaded that. I then went to the picture I originally wanted to display, hoping that XnView was one of the options displayed under "Open with...", but NO. I then clicked on "Connect more apps" and in the search box which popped up I typed in "XnConvert" and it said "couldn't find anything for your search".

I went back into Google Play and searched for XnConvert and it told me it was installed.

I have been using a chromebook for about 6 years now and have always had to "fight" to get it to do what I want when I need to do something new. I find it really frustrating but overall I really like it. I have found it a challenge which I can sometimes enjoy when I have a problem like this to solve, in that I get a sense of achievement when it all comes together in the end. At this time I'm tempted to just accept that I might have to use Google Docs or Doc-Hub to view the photo(s). That'll suffice for now but isn't ideal.

Thanks for your input.

Sorry about that - Xnview and my delay in replying.

I did a search and found these options > https://www.androidauthority.com/best-gallery-apps-android-687764/

https://9to5google.com/2020/05/05/chrome-os-revamped-photo-viewer-app-gallery/

I suggest you try these two from the play store first (I have both installed on my phone (Samsung A71) by default and works fine....

1. Google Photos

2. Gallery

 Let's see how this works.

Hi ravip. I tried to install Google Photos via Play Store but when I entered it in the search bar and clicked "enter" on my keyboard, I was presented with a screen asking me to open Google Photos, so it must be installed already. When I opened it, I got thumbs of all my photos but NOT the photo which I wanted! I had already sync'd though. Now, I thank you for your assistance but this is all too confusing for me, so I'm going to forget about it completely. Best regards.

As I don't have hands on experience on a Chrome Book, I guess I cant be more precise.

Extremely s0rry about this, but I hope a Chrome Book user will help you out.

Best regards to you too.
