Former Patong taxi boss arrested for guns, drugs

PHUKET: A former president of the Patong Taxi Club has been arrested in a raid that netted 122,000 methamphetamine (ya bah) pills and two illegal firearms.

 

Patong Police today (Jan 7) reported that Chatchawan Khuechan, a 54-year-old resident of Moo 3 Wichit, was arrested yesterday (Jan 7) in a joint raid carried out by Phang Nga Town Police, Phang Nga Provincial Police and Region 8 Police. 

 

The report did not confirm where Chatchawan was arrested, but did note that officers from Khok Kloi Police Station and Phang Nga Muang District Police Station were present for the arrest.

So many things could be said about the activities of this character. Sympathy won't be one of them.

I don't believe for one nanosecond that a Patong taxi boss would be involved in anything illegal. This report in nonsense!! ????

ideal way of distribution in the past...overcharge passengers and if caught -> they belong to the passenger

He's been arrested. He won't get away with it this time. Probably paid off the right people for years but the right people sometimes change!

From the news report, it seemed that the BIB from Phuket was not involved in the raid.  Only Phang Nga Town Police, Phang Nga Provincial Police and Region 8 Police conducted the raid.

The Phuket police is fuming now, a good little money earner gone down the drain.

 

Perhaps they will even face an independent investigation and people will be moved to inactive posts as usually.

How about going after the current taxi boss who is doing the same thing?  No, can't do.  He is still paying us.
