You can find people with IQ 150 amongst those people who entered the Capitol and you can find people with IQ 70.

Why have so many of them used the excuse that they have a mental illness to try to escape prosecution ?  If they really do have mental issues then they should have stayed at home, not go out to a riot.  And where were all the security ? Just a few cops. You would have thought that there would be trained professionals guarding the place. Maybe there were at one time but Trumpy got rid of them !

Not to put too fine a point on it, but I think it demonstrates a shocking lack of intelligence to a) believe anything Trump says in the first place, and b) to actually do what Trump asked them to do: come to Washington and do Trump’s dirty work for him. A violent mob invading the U.S. capitol to overturn the finalization of a democratic election are not freedom fighters or pro democracy activists! They were the exact opposite. They were trying to perform a self coup to install an anti-democracy authoritarian dictatorship in the USA. Suppose they had located the lawmakers? There is little doubt now there would have been a bloodbath. It's truly sickening that anyone at all that considers themselves an American or in favor of democracy can even try to make excuses for these white nationalist pro authoritarian anti-democracy terrorists.

Unlikely. It seems much more likely that the vast majority of violent supporters were there in DC on the 6th. Most of the other supporters will either slowly forget about him as time passes, or else they can't afford to travel to DC to protest. They are going to have to grow up and accept that their guy got hammered in the election. That's democracy. They are welcome to leave the country if democracy upsets them so.

 

Corporations---the Donor Class---are going to be part of the solution. Slowly, because repubs know they need money to maintain their lifestyle as elected officials, repubs who went along with the 'election fraud' claims, even when they didn't believe it, will begin to come clean and say the election was free and fair and 45 was beat badly. Sen Lankford is already doing that, and he was a firm supporter of the lie.

 

As other repubs come clean, 45 will be left alone and begin to look more and more silly. I also suspect that even if he avoids jail and finds a way to broadcast his mendacity---since he's bounced from Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube and parler no longer exists--- he will look more and more deranged. Only the most diehard, or the dyed-in-the-wool racists who form much of his core base, will be left. The FBI will have little problem rounding them up. The bureau is quite good when they need to be, and the folks they are facing are not as clever.

 

While I do expect more violence, and possibly some mcveigh type of slaughter, I think the bureau will be a lot less patient in the future. They will simply eradicate the vermin just as if they were al Qaeda or ISIS, especially since 45's terrorists are equally dangerous.

If Trump really needs these crazies to continue to follow him for his ego after he leaves office, I suspect he will become even more of a god-loving poser by touring the states and spending a lot more time in the superchurches. He could just move on from his political experience and enjoy a healthy retirement, which sadly very few wealthy people seem to do anymore.  He could be proud of his accomplishments in life but I figure he's too spiteful and desirous of being the man who the camera are focused on. He doesn't add to my life when he's whining in the media cameras. He just makes the world a worse place. He and his crazy conspiracists need each other. If one of them were to leave the other's identity and ideas would fade too.

 

I just hope the revolution in the streets and Washington is over. We don't need more of this unnecessary hate and violence. We know what the problems are in the US.

Is it any wonder therefore that the rubes out there believe the right-wing propaganda of Trump and associates, when even those in the higher echelons believe it – – seems like the main requirement to be a member of the Republican party is to have very little in the way of intelligence, or even common-sense for that matter.

 

I mention common-sense because who in their right mind would believe the, "QAnon conspiracy theory, which casts Trump as a savior figure and elite Democrats as a cabal of Satanist pedophiles and cannibals??
