Air Asia to Hua Hin back on

Featured Replies

For anyone interested the Hua Hin flight is now scheduled once more. Two flights a week on Friday and Sunday with first flight on 19/02. Flight south departs 0940 with return same day departing 1510.

May be wise to hang on for a week or two just in case plans change.

...little bit off topic ... 15 Feb Cnx -Phuket should re-open with Air Asia ????

Source?  Can't find it on the Air Asia site.

Dante99, we use economy car rentals (https://www.economycarrentals.com). They have always been the cheapest we can find. We used to use Rentalcars.com until we found buried in the small print you have to be a U.K. resident. Living in Thailand meant we could not meet that requirement. They don’t state that or even ask you when you book on-line so be careful!
Last two times in Hua Hin Thai Rent A Car (https://thairentacar.com) supplied the car via economy car rentals. Worth checking their web site too in case they have some direct special deals.
Thai Rent A Car office in Hua Hin is next to Villa Market (original shop). They are very helpful and said if we call them they a few days before we arrive they will deliver the car to Hua Hin airport for free. They even offered to drive us back to the airport last time we dropped off the car at their office.

When we were last at Hua Hin airport in November 2020 there were no on-site car rental companies. The car rental office was shut.
We were due to fly from Chiang Mai to Hua Hin on 12th Feb but our flight was cancelled.

They announced on the 12th January that they were suspending flights until 31 January, with the flights from the 5th February onwards being still available to book from both Chiang Mai and Udon Thani to Hua Hin.

They quietly dropped the availability from the 5th until the 14th February , inclusive,  with flights still available from the 19th onwards.

Flights are sill only available to book up to and including 26 March, that's been their schedule sinced they announced the route.

I flew back from Udon in November, plenty of social distancing at the airport, but as soon as I was on the aircraft every seat was taken, the flight took 45 mins, I assume as there was little air traffic they were able to fly a more direct route.

They seem to have dropped the route, they're now showing no availability at all for the original schedule up untill 26 March.
