Ambitious plans for Pattaya to become global hub for film industry and movie production

Officials in Pattaya on Wednesday held a meeting to discuss ways in which to transform the city into a global hub for movie production and film.

 

The aim is to get the city officially recognised by UNESCO  as a “film city”, which would help to attract more quality tourists and in turn boost the image of the resort.

 

Pattaya would also host world class film festivals, in the same way Utah hosts the Sundance Film Festival or how Cannes is famed for hosting its annual film festival.

 

As part of the project dubbed Pattaya City of Film, they would also become a hub for movie production and the film industry as a whole within the next five year.

That might actually work, now that American movie industry is busy being so woke and pretend-virtuous the actual movies and TV-series produced suck *ss big time. I can find today even Russian TV-series that are better done with better plot than most American ones. 

Ambitious plan? Hmmm! I can think of a few other adjectives that are more appropriate than ambitious. Wild, loony, insane, laughable etc.

They may not realize it, but they are already a hub for video and movie production in Pattaya....well...although Pornhub banning might have reduced the viewership a little...

I hear the guys from "Tuk Tuk Patrol' heaved already opened their head office adjacent to soi 6.

I have an idea for a movie that may work, call it "The Hub" and it can be all about the ongoing quest to be the hub of something or other. A real human drama, looking for meaning in life, chasing a dream, triumphing over adversity, all appears lost until the very end, broken dreams.

I think it would be one of those movies that ultimately has a sad ending

Pattaya a world heritage site? Now I have really heard it all. Maybe this is a scam to get funds, I thought world heritage recognised your established history and  established culture NOT what you plan to do.

Success or failure depends on what sort of films they want to make of course. Given the talents the locals have to offer, the difficulty of the pornhub ban aside, some quite imaginative productions are possible.

100's maybe 1000's of them probably from my personal viewing.

World class medical hub, world class family resort, word class public transport, world class hi-tech hub, world class this and that. Next up: Hub for the Thai space program.

It has been for years. I've made numerous low-budget films in Pattaya, with many different actresses.

None of them were grubby. I made sure they showered before, and personally inspected all the crevices to make sure they were completely devoid of grubs.

If LA already has horrible air quality then why would they bother at the expense to come to LOS, especially when they get that wonderful quarantine requirement to boot?
