Solar Power is cheap and it’s going to get even cheaper very soon.
Not sure where to stick this (no, it won't fit) ... but at Future Park, Rangsit area the other day, and coming down for higher parking level, and nothing but roofs coverer with solar panels. Don't wait for your govt or power company to help ... just do yourself a favor, install solar. Stop being a putts. -

Are foreigners taken for granted in Thailand?
...isn't that naivety precisely what many thai's see as a weakness in foreigners, and why so many farangs end up getting scammed into buying their girlfriends a house, only to find themselves kicked out of their own houses 6 months later.. bob. -

Cheap Charlie?
That is a price increase of 43%! And that is a big difference if the buffet is basically the same. -

Need to purchase new tabletop gas burner. Suggestions?
Thanks! No, I had not considered this option. Yes, the gas tank can be an issue on occasion. Gas is handy, however, when the power goes out. I'll have a poke around with these. I'd be worried my cookware would need to be replaced. Also, I live in an old house that doesn't have great electric....old wiring and sockets that fit poorly and not enough of them. My chef friend also pushes for such a thing! -

Latest Thailand Entry Requirements for UK Passport Holders
I am not thinking of visiting Thailand at the moment, I am quite happy in Laos. However, I receive regular emails from UK.Gov regarding the latest information regarding both Thailand and Laos. The email I quoted was received this morning and does not match the information elsewhere on this forum. I suspect that someone has made an error in the UK. The 60 day 'multi-entry' visa mentioned in the email also is something I have not heard of before. -

Interview with the Deputy Director-General of the Consular Department about DTV
I agree with your statement but you also must understand that a lot of the users of this forum unless given a specific answer that they want then they will guess that the answer is what they want to hear and may be incorrect most of the time. I blv that the TRD should report on the DTV tax requirements for those staying in country over 180 days a calendar year as it seem so many people that I have heard talking/writing about this particular visa believe that one can stay within Thailand for almost the entire 5 years without having to do extensions but just go across the border and return for a new entry stamp and I am sure the TRD will have something to say about that since the holders of this visa cannot work for a Thai company so must remit funds to live or carry a lot of cash each exit/entrance. I really don't care except I just think if the Dir of the TRD makes that clear, then this subject will only get a few pages instead of a hundred pages of repeated questions and guesses. -

LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
Beg to disagree. BB has 2FA at the transaction level. When you record a new payee they send a PIN to your mobile this is level 2 (prove you OWN a given object), while level 1 is confirmed when yo log in (prove you KNOW the password). Other payments, etc,, require PIN confirmation as well. But is true that they (try to) achieve the third level (prove who you ARE) with the face recognition. But it just doesn't work for me, and others, so I can't have mobile banking, at the moment. It doesn't work for ,any reason's: a) I use and Iphone SE, which doesn't give enough light, b) I have a rather stiff neck, so I can't hold the phone still while turning my head, c) I have droopy eyelids, d) I am not Thai, don't base my status on fake smiles, e) now I just get angry when I get near the thing. These idiots seem to have tested their crappy software, using an Iphone Pro Max, on a dozen of lellow faces, all in the same age group. This piece of manure needs to be entirely retested, taking into account ethnic origin, age group, disability, and terminals used. The list of validated terminals should be available to the public. Bunch of effing amateurs... -

Electric Motorbike Catches Fire in Chon Buri, Triggering Police Investigation
Do you actually believe in your wildest moment that is the only use I get out of it? I live well out of town and my Mrs likes odd trips back to the village... a truck or SUV almost obligatory for there. I have my moments where I long to live central though .... -
