Sleep aid for a long flight
It helps to take a flight that leaves late at night so you're already sleepy when you get on the plane. Mostly, I don't worry about it. Sometimes I can sleep, sometimes I can't, in which case I just watch movies. I travel from the USA, so the flights are always long. Total flying time including any layovers can be 25 hours or more. Thai Air used to have non-stop flights that were about 17 hours, but those were stopped years ago. I didn't mind those in Premium Economy. One time I met a girl at the check in line at the airport and talked to her for a while. She was in my section, but after we boarded the plane, I didn't see her again for the entire flight until the baggage claim area. She said she had taken some Xanax pills before the flight, and those had zonked her out for the entire flight. -

Becoming a monk for a week or 2 to make merit for your dead grandfather should be looked at. About half the problems brought into a temple are from these quick in and out monks. They virtually don't learn anything about how to be a monk or the Buddhist religion. -

Pink ID Card has your Tax ID number
I don't consider it burying one's head in the sand. I had a Thai RD official tell me the pink ID can be used as a tax ID ( for online tax returns) once it's activated to do so. Like many, I am interested to know how the tax interpretation changes by the Thai RD will evolve. It wouldn't surprise me if we learn more on this, in regards to pink ID number being treated ( or not) like Thai citizen ID number, for Thai TIN purposes, from official sources , in the coming six months or so. -

There is an obvious distinction between activities intended to promote a political position and those of personal religious belief. The wearing of a modest cross or star of david is not an intrusion. It can be considered a fashion accessory for some. It is not inappropriate for US nationals to wear a US flag pin in their lapel when they are in the USA or are representing the USA in an official capacity. After all, they are citizens of the USA, and in the USA. It is also acceptable for other people in other countries to do similar. -

In 2007 USA suggested Ukraine join NATO but Germany and France vetoed the proposal so they could complete lucrative trade deals with Russia. Now, that worked well! Germany has now increased its defence spending due to Russia's expansionist policy. First into Crimea and now Ukraine. Finland and Sweden joined NATO after Russia invaded Ukraine so how has that helped Russia? Has NATO ever threatened a sovereign nation? of course not, you are talking utter nonsense.
