Mexico to import edible edible cricket product from Thailand

 

 

Mexico’s government has resolved to approve the import of cricket powder from Thailand, specifically made from a species more commonly known as the house cricket, according to Thailand’s National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards (ACFS).

 

Pisal Pongsapich, the ACFS secretary general, said that Thailand has been negotiating with its counterparts in Mexico, boosting their confidence in Thai farm and manufacturing processes.

 

The import will be on the condition that the cricket powder is produced from farmed crickets, which have a Health Certificate issued by the Thai Department of Livestock Development.

Stumped to think why Mexico can't bale thereselves out with this .. 

 

Maybe they are in contact with a certain state quarantine hotel ???? 

So not only motorists and vehicle purchasers need a medical / health certificate crickets need one also before their pulverised I take it !

It would have been helpful if they said what it is used for?

funny the box gets Closer to the Cash Register; and Chirps even before the BarCode Scanner goes near it ????

because some crickets are not edible, that's why they have to be called double edible

Oh, well, if they come with a house health certificate, I'm sure it will be all fine and dandy. "Appelation Controlee".
