Thailand's authorities continued their crackdown on online gambling operations with raids in Bangkok and Rayong.

But no big fish were arrested - just admin staff.

In LadPrao, Bangkok, 191 police acting on a tip-off went to a house in Soi 107, sub-intersection 5, in Bangkapi district where they arrested three people.

Prasert, 25, from Ratchaburi, Chanakorn, 25 from Sa Kaeo and Nawarat, 22, a Bangkokian, said they were just admin staff for 28 gambling websites.

Police took 8 computers, 19 phones and 95 bank books into evidence.

In addition they found 6,200,000 in cash.

All those present were charged with gambling related offences.

Meanwhile in Rayong a house and business premises were raided in the Nikhom Pattana police jurisdiction.

Four people were arrested at the house and five at the business premises. There were men and women, all admin, who denied being part of the bigger picture.

Computers and phones were taken into evidence with the tech cops saying that these arrests were related to the operations of two gambling groups.

Always been the way, and always will be the way.

Too much money at stake.

Administering online gambling using 8 computers and 19 phones and they still needed 6,200,000 in cash, was that for the brown envelope, because it didn't work, wrong people came.

That’s a lot of cash. Surely it’ll take a lot of work accounting for all 5 million of it and from whom it came. Then all 4.5 million will have to be properly logged into evidence, waiting for when that 4 million will submitted as evidence in court, sure to be a long case in which the public will wonder just where that 3 million in cash came from. Eventually, the Policemen’s Benevolent Fund will be happy to receive this generous donation of 2 million baht.
