Thailand reported 100 new COVID-19 infections on Friday.

Of the new cases, 96 were local transmissions, while 4 were imported from people entering quarantine.

A further 73 people were discharged from hospital having made a full recovery.

1054 people remain in hospital or held in a migrant worker quarantine centre.

Most of the cases originated from Samut Sakhon and Bangkok, the location of a new cluster of cases linked to Bang Khae Market.

Friday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 27,594, with 90 deaths.

The end is nowhere near in sight! Encouraging Songkran travel, reducing quarantines below 14 days, is just plain irresponsible.

We have precious few vaccines so far &, at best, 10mil per month "in June", if startup & production quotas are realised.

Thailand is making the same mistakes as have other countries by abandoning the good plan that was keeping us all safe.

We have been sheltering in place throughout but I walked Sukhumvit after my CW visa extension. Yeah, it's a ghost town out there but don't expose people to Covid for spurious reasons.

Most people trust their govt. If govt says it's safe to travel, then it is.

I don't believe that. Statistics & lack of testing don't lie.

Well there you go. Those from Myanmar (can't remember but 70+ I think) that contracted covid in the covid lock up reported on all news media didn't actually happen or maybe Prayut went in there and cured them.
