Why not mulchers ?

Interestingly there is a project that started last month whereby leaves that are gathered  can be sold to a, I  believe a gov agency (Not 100% sure), for 2-3 baht a kilo and then they are mulched and resold as fertiliser.

Just a start maybe?

Found out more. It was a private company that came up with the idea but they have now set up a JV with the government and the state. Apparently they have already accumulated 20 tons of leaves and it will be extended to other "burnable" vegetation in the near future.

Not just fertiliser, the mulch can be turned in to wood vinegar which in turn can be used to produce washing materials, shampoo, conditioner, detergent etc.

An interesting innovation, but still requires persons to collect the leaves etc. May be the tipping point.

Communal mulchers would be great, but the current pollution crisis is mostly from arsonists setting fire to forest floors, ahead of wild mushroom collection..

That is the killer......farmers would have to see some serious money in order to do the work required to gather in, bundle and transport that waste.

I would like to see this lady succeed, I hope it happens.

I know my town in the US mulches and provides the mulch free to residents.

maybe it would be easier/better if we just all moved to your town.. is there a Thai noodle soup shop there?

You are indeed welcome here. But as there are only 18,000 residents, I don't think all can fit.
