Thailand reported 789 new COVID-19 infections on Saturday, continuing the spike of new cases in recent days.

Of the new cases, 781 were local transmissions, while 8 were imported from people entering quarantine.

Most of the new cases are linked to the clusters from entertainment venues in Bangkok.

A further 33 people were discharged from hospital having made a full recovery.

3,400 people remain in hospital receiving treatment.

1 more death was also reported.

Saturday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 31,658 with 97 deaths.

Not trying to bash Thailand.  But add a zero to that number.  Might be closer to reality.

10,000 deaths and no one noticed, right........????

Looks like the figures can't be managed anymore.

Exponential growth in case numbers

Lack of testing kits or hospitals unwilling to test.

Beds running out in hospitals

All the hallmarks of Thai style <deleted>.

Anyone not happy with the situation should leave immediately.

Opportune time to put 90 day reporting on the back burner.

559 to 789 is hardly exponential growth...and if hospital beds are running out it's because they put anyone testing positive in hospital even though 50% of people are asymptomatic and 80% never need hospitalization.

You can use Google yourself. The officials here have said numerous times that they don't know all the cases.

How is Thailand doing in the world ranking these reports used to include at the bottom of the page? For some reason, that part of the story has disappeared.

Still at the 113th country in reported case count numbers, what whatever that kind of stat is worth. That ranking has remained unchanged over the past several days.

The EN version hasn't been updated yet for today, but the TH version is pretty clear.

Vaccinations update through Friday April 9, still less than 1 percent of the country's 70 million population:

The chart above shows total vaccine doses administered in Thailand through Friday, April 9, and then the subtotals for total first shot and second shot doses. Then...

"On Friday, Thailand administered 64,390 doses to first-time vaccine recipients. That means that 470,000 people have now received their first dose.

On Saturday, 1 million more doses of Sinovac's vaccine arrived in Thailand."

I would tend to stand on your theory and think there are 2 sets of books, one that is shown to the public, and one out into a safe, and many deaths not openly related to CV-19 to down play it. I did read something of that fact that this happened in the USA as well. Even the road deaths here are under reported as it was brought up before that the ones who made it to hospital and then passed away were not recorded in the correct related category.

Supply the figures and I'll tell you. In the meantime your post is tosh.

Get MOPH to unlock the database sections they locked off and the figures are yours.  There was a former poster who had posted it all and I had them in a PM from him, however certain things happened and they are now no longer available to me. Figure out the cryptic words and you will understand.

There's never been any evidence of excess deaths in Thailand, Reuters and and one other Western source reported no, or even negative excess deaths during Thailand's first 'peak'.

To demonstrate excess death, you must show an excess greater than the normal monthly variation over the last few years.  No one has shown this.

What is the official recommendation on self-isolating now?

If you travel through Bangkok, are you told to self-isolate when you reach your destination? For how long?

113th reported cases and 134th for testing per million.

If they were 113th and say 10th for testing per million we would all be patting Thailand on the back.

But 134th for testing per million, less than Libya, namibia, Eswatini and Djibouti clearly shows that their position in the outbreak if defined by their amount of testing and not their control. To me anyway.

And all this is hidden from WHO and CDC who are embedded with MoPH right?

Have you noticed we haven't heard from him since? Is there a link? The last figure I remember was 3600 unknown viral pneumonia deaths early 2020 like March/April when the figures disappeared.

Rabas I would agree with you if I had not seen the MOPH data from all of the prior years as well as the first part of 2020 which were in a specific section of the MOPH data base.  As soon as it started to be disseminated out and about, and we were having discussion regarding this as well as a newspaper article was written (which has also now disappeared), MOPH locked up their statistics.   It is hard for folks to understand that there was an excess of deaths classified as Pneumonia and respiratory issue deaths, but there were, it is not something that I would lie about.

That might be because access is no longer available.Remember Thailand is ranked 104th in the world for transparency and corruption.
