Aussies now need an ETA to enter Thailand
I see this is a positive if we don't have to go to a desk and see an actual person on arrival. Singapore and Malaysia are now so easy to go in and out of using the automated gates. I have been using the auto gates to leave Suvarnabhumi recently though, which made things a lot easier. However, this does also mean that long-term tourists without proper visas may be able to come in and out on ETAs as much as they like, without human intervention. They could of course electronically limit the amount of ETAs per year… -

Former US Soldier, 82, Assaulted by Drunk Thai Man in Pattaya Park
Those leaving comments here who are condemning this guy for running without a shirt on you need to get a life. I bet you haven't run a day in your life. At least he is trying to stay in shape. He may be jogging really really slowly, but that is more than you are doing. Shame on you. You need to examine your own life and figure out why you are so miserable. You are an embarrassment to all foreigners. I sure hope nobody gives the Thai guy a pass because he was drunk. He needs to take personal responsibility drunk or not. -

So you enter some data on a website and this makes you trackable? How? I don't understand the mechanics of it... -

US Navy Coming to Visit Pattaya in Mid September
"The exact number of sailors arriving were not announced." That's exactly what I was searching for. But it's a supply ship so expectations about big money coming in seem exaggerated. (previous post was faster) -

Reduce taxation by gifting.
Seems TRD may already be ahead of the issue. From Thai Revenue Code: Section 37 Any person who: (2) by fault, fraud, scheme or any other method of similar nature, evades or attempts to evade tax or request for tax refund under this Title, shall be subject to an imprisonment from 3 months to 7 years and a fine from 2,000 Baht to 200,000 Baht. https://www.rd.go.th/english/37746.html My definition for scheme: A series of transactions, legal or not, that have no other purpose or function other than to evade taxes. -

I suspect the economic impact on the city may fall below expectations when the crew of this vessel hit town. -

American man arrested for allegedly abusing 14-year-old Thai student
Correct. But 1: you don't take a 14 year old alone to your condo, not even if you are teaching her. 2: Why is it the girl told a friend, a friend told a teacher, a teacher told the mother, the mother told the police, a month after it was supposed to have happened. 3: they guy has denied it. But people who know nothing about him, the, girl, the teacher, and the mother have condemned him the same as they condemned the Swiss guy, who was found innocent yesterday. -

Thai man boasts about raping more than 20 drunk women - video
Somehow I don't expect that they'll get him drunk first. That way he'll get to experience everything very clearly. -
