Thailand’s Disease Control Department has released guidelines and rules for stays in field hospitals.

They are:

  • -Bring your own personal items, such as cutlery, toiletries, clothes, towels and medication
  • -Cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, sharp items and gambling equipment are not allowed, and do not bring expensive items that are likely to be stolen

Looks like if you did not have the virus before, a false test result, asymptomatic, in these closed places your chances are very good to finally catch it and really get sick!

Do they supply an electric outlet to charge my phone and for a CPAP machine, just asking for a friend

Moral of the story just don't get tested so you are not stuck in a field hospital, stay home and you will be fine.

Definitely  don't take photos of  fellow  female "inmates"   relaxing on their bunk  playing on phone whilst wearing shorts and post them on social media ....big trouble...   but its ok to air on national news as long as you blur the  shorts and wearers face ????

Don’t have beans for breakfast.

but cutlery has to be washed after each meal.

do people suppose to form a very long line to the "kitchen" sink?

also hospital towels, clothing should be given to all and washed and dried?

it would be really messy if patients will do their own laundry and drying it in the common room. That won't be hygienic

yeah I will take the risk, I can always to go to bKK hospital or Bumrungrad in bkk should I develop actual symptoms but getting tested just to sit in a cot for 2 weeks I will pass, call me selfish but its everyones choice

And if caught you will be fined for violating the CDC regulations unfortunately.

I completely understand and agree,, but if you think you have Covid you could be fined for not disclosing it.

Easy to say that. But if you have a mild case and the ability to isolate at home it's kind of crazy to come forward under the terms they're offering f-rangs.

Wonderful.

Private hospitals that are still doing testing hold up the positive results for a few days.  Then call the patient with the bad news and tell them they will send an ambulance as soon as they have an available bed.  They bet on patients either being better or dead by the time they tell they have a bed, so they don't have to deal with them.  This based on a real case in Bangkok.

Today, the elderly gent that died contracted covid from his grandson who was visiting for Songkran. This is is not the first time this has happened in LoS and a good reason why isolation away from family is important. Asymptomatics can still transmit the virus, though to a lesser degree than those with symptoms. Most of the poorer Thai families could not isolate the ill easily - many share the same bedrooms and they have poor knowledge of hygeine practices.

I'm in the "stay at home" camp, so I've already made arrangements for food/water/etc.  Also, that I check in with someone daily (Line).  No plans to be the rotting corpse.
