Retirement Extension in Phetchabun Tues 20th April 2021

As the title says Retirement Extension in Phetchabun Tues 20th April 2021 - successful eventually.

Arrived in the Immigration Office at 9:40, give or take, nobody in queue, armed with the following:-

TM7 (Phetchabun office variant)

Passport - copies of Face page, transfer stamps, current stamp and TM6 (Departure Card)

STM2 Acknowledgement of T&C’s of stay

Acknowledgement of Retirement Financial Requirements

Acknowledgement of Penalties of a Visa Overstay

House Location Map

Copy of Yellow Book

Bank letter

Bank passbook - copies of face page and pages from July 2018 onwards

Now the problems start

Passport - No copies of previous extension stamps (in my bag, just in case), No copy last 90 day report (in my bag), No copy TM30 receipt (problem I've never had one, it's never been asked for in 15 years of extensions and they can't find one in the system nor in last years application pack - queue at 90 day desk to file a new one - he found it using my old passport number and gave me a copy to keep in my passport and one for desk 2 - approx. 45 minute delay)

Bank Letter - No Statement of Account transactions, Lom Sak branch didn't provide, I said its all detailed in the book, but to no avail it must have a Bank stamp on it, so hot foot to a Phetchabun Branch and Immigration didn't know where the nearest branch was, just kept saying Tesco/Lotus, luckily I had a suspicion of where it was, I also had to pay the fee again.

Bank Passbook - what could go wrong here you think nearly 3 years of transactions, ------ but your copies are no good without the pages between July 2018 and February 2014 when I opened the account (again in my bag).

All in all, I think I did well to get out at 11:20, only an hour and a half.

It would have been worse if they'd noticed the photo on the application form was the same as last years, I did when they were checking my last years submission for the missing TM30.

100% of nothing, haven't done for years not since I seen an IO place a few 100B notes in his pocket and then kind of indicate to somebody no change.

That's nasty. Not doing anything extra to help and giving the person no choice.

Had exactly the same thing in January, only been doing it there for 8 years mind! When they first opened at Phetchabun it was a great office, now I'm not so sure. Did my 90 day there yesterday after they told me on my January renewal they "prefer" me to go in person for 90day and not use the online system(if it was working).

As an aside, not a lot of evidence of staff wearing face masks either.

Didn't say anything to me when doing an in person report 23 February , as the system fell over between moving from e-mail saying approved to accessing the system to print out the slip & next date.

If he told you in Jan to do it in person not online in the future, kind of implies he new it was going to fall over, doesn't it.

Face masks about 50/50 with staff, 100% visitors, and there were more visitors than staff.

I always wear the same old shirt I had on for my 4 year old pics.. Ha ha ha..takes them by surprise.

Talking of photos, I was going to use last years too, until they said in my pre-submission goal post checking visit, pics are "specs off" , last year "specs on" as per my passport pic was acceptable. Geez !

Never heard that parameter from Immigration before, but as I only wear mine now to read and write, use laptop etc., it would be spec's off as a norm, bet it'll change again next year or the year after.

And here was I believing Immigration was going to make things easy for expats helping to keep Thailand afloat!

They have all of the requirements in a hand-out sheet if you ask for it. In English.

You have been going there for 8 years and have not been asked if you want to go on the preferred 90 day report list?

Sorry I don't understand. "preferred 90 day report list"

Pay 1000 Baht fee and they send the 90 Day slip in the mail to you. Up to you, I politely declined as up there regulary playing golf and easy to do if you are  at Imm Off for morning opening time.

Phetchabun hasn't been open 8 years, this little cash earner carried over from Phitsanulok days.

Agree Phetchabun Office opened somewhere between 28 Oct 2016 (last stamp from Phitsanulok) and 7 March 2017 (first stamp from Phetchabun), so only 4 years.

Have not been offered this "privilege" in Phetchabun, nor was I offered it in Phitsanulok. 2 friends accepted and were sent 90 day receipts even when out of the country. I wasn't offered presumably because I mailed mine in and didn't attend Phitsanulok for 90 days. Now I assume I live too close to be offered the facility.

Thanks for info on the"privilege," I could use a more appropriate word. Since I live 15mins away from the office I will continue to pollute the planet and use up a few more trees in wasted paper. Yes I was a bit off with my dates, realise I used to go to Phitsanulok. So 8 years between the two offices.
