Please can someone outline the Visa (extention) options for a male 60+ married has income but not pension.

I know of  married ext , (seems like hassle)

Retired is 800k tied up for 6 months (3 b4 3 after ?)

Whats the combination way ? and whats required to prove income because Embassy letters are no longer available ? Does it need to be same amount same date etc ?

Another one I heard of was multi entry, 90 days, then ext 60, then border and repeat,no financials, is that correct ? Or no longer viable because of covid ?

Any other methods/suggestions to stay long term please ?

No AGENTS suggestions as I just dont like the uncertainty with that way, thanks.

What hassle. Married guys have it easy.

Have 400k in the bank for 2 months prior to application. After final approval you can use the money. Was a repeat year later.

Walk in the park.

ME marriage requires open borders to exit and re-entry. Not currently possible. Option for the future.

Also can use 40K per month transferred to Thai bank account from abroad.

Wouldnt call 94 page application a walk in the park, as one guy had recently

Best advice is don't live near a rogue Immigration office ..or a pig farm

Yes, alternatively...if you are working here...proving legal income deposits from employment

Yes it can as Tonray already pointed out.

The reason I mentioned money in bank is that it's bullet proof.

Many threads almost daily where some immigration offices are picky in regards to income method. Also wishing to see the money is from a "pension".

I don't have a pension. I have sources of income. That can be an issue

I think thats maybe an exaggeration, besides all the usual documents required for both retire or marriage, its literally a Kor ror 2 and some photos extra. If your local office requires 12 months bank statements to prove 400k minimum for retire, it would probably end up more pages for retire.

So anyone explain rules for combination way ?

Simple: combination of income deposits and money in the bank must be equal to or greater than 400K annually. But a big caveat...this is one area where some offices have taken exception, requiring a certain minimum on deposit in bank and that varies all over the map. Some don't like to deal with the combo method at all. Best bet is to visit your local IO and ask about options.

that's not the norm, fairly straight forward and a lot cheaper/easier than doing border hops if on a M.E.non 'O'

As the name implies, a combination of deposit and income to meet the 400/800 requirements. Specific requirements will vary depending on your local office

Combination not available for marriage extension, so the income deposits and money in bank must equal 800thb for 'retirement' extension

Is it not available in the Immigration laws or is it just a local taboo to refuse to accept ?

You must prove the 40k baht income came from abroad for 12 months or in the case of you first extension after a recent entry to the country for 2 or months.

Most offices will want proof of the source of your income it can be income from investments and etc. or a pension.

Suggest you look up this forum to see who made the report re; 94 pages required for a marriage extension before saying that the statement "maybe an exaggeration".  If we cannot trust that poster then there is no point in posting on TV!

It may not have been a exaggeration and you have to remember that 2 sets of documents must be provided so for 2 that would be 46 pages per set and that includes copies of his old passport that the rogue office wanted.

Is there a rule that you MUST use your nearest immigration office ? Or can you use any ?

Must use the office of your residence province

So how do people who live say in the North, use an agent in Pattaya ? How can than work being so far apart ? Just curious.

Marriage extension with 400k in the bank is pretty easy to do.

Don't believe some of the rubbish you read on here.

Been doing it for years and always in and out of the office in an hour or less.

The agent changes their address to one in Pattaya. That also means when you go to do your 90 day reports or get a Residence Cert...you must do that in Pattaya too

Its bogus and not exactly legal.

It usually requires officially moving (back to local office) after you get the extension. You will see threads where people have had problems dealing with their local office after getting an agent extension elsewhere.

i use Rayong, its quiet and the lady that deals with family stuff is strict on the order of papers but always quick there

i hear of people obtaining 'retirement' extension via a pattaya agent, doing 90 days in other offices

I dont need to look it up, I do a marriage extension each year so I am fully aware of the documents.

In Jomtien, I probably submit around 15-20 pages and a 2nd copy of them, so around 40 pages. I have submitted similar for retire extensions in other provinces.
