BANGKOK (NNT) - The armed forces have deployed military vehicles to pick up and transfer Covid-19 patients from their homes to hospitals as part of efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Defense Ministry spokesman Lt Gen Kongcheep Tantravanich said the Prime Minister had instructed the Operating Centre for Resolution of Security Emergency to mobilize military vehicles to support efforts to transfer Covid-19 patients in Bangkok and surrounding provinces from their homes to hospitals.

He said the armed forces is working closely with the Public Health Ministry and deploy military medical personnel and resources to help with the transfer of patients stranded in their homes to hospitals.

Since April 14, the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters (RTAFH) has arranged for 25 vehicles and four ambulances to support the transfer operations by the Bangkok Emergency Medical Service Centre, also known as the Erawan Centre.

Free for Thai`s I,m guessing...how much for farang...or are they banned altogether ????

This suggests the figures between 2000  -3000 ish nationwide is very very wide of the mark if ambulances and private taxis are now unable to cope with the numbers that they have to call in the army trucks.

Why not use the army to get everybody vaccinated? I was thinking the other day do they have a Royal Medical Corp.....? should be part of their training being able to administer injections
