Got mine at the local hospital when I flew back to the states last month, cost was 3000 baht and no problem with the airline accepting it. 

MedConsult on Sukhumvit Road offers the RT-PCR test, which is the one required for travel. The cost is 2,600 baht. If you go early in the morning the result is provided by email later the same day.

Travel to where?  The UK, for example permits an antigen, LAMP or nucleic acid test instead of a PCR one.

 

 

The USA allows a selection too:

 

Sukhumvit Hospital...3900 THB, test result next day, including Fit to Travel( don't know, why they issue it, as PCR test is enough)

Register on line, they send it link to pay the day before the test.

As Treetops said, the expensive PCR test is not required for entry to the UK, the rapid antigen is fine (1500 baht at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, near Victory Monument - result in 2 hours).

 

I returned to the UK on Wednesday.

Who did you fly with, if you don't mind me asking?  Were your antigen test results accepted at check in without issue?

I flew Finnair via Helsinki. 
No issues whatsoever with the rapid antigen test certificate.

Yes, the hospital knew exactly what information was required on the test certificate by the UK.

As it says on the website quoted above:

 

”...confirmation of the device used for the test 

OR

that the test was a PCR test.”

 

But if you want to pay much more than 1500 baht to have a PCR test then, of course, that is your choice.

I tried using gov approved test sites list, looking for Chonburi (Pattaya & Jomtien). Hit the links, open google maps "We could not find XYZ". Lovely

The link you quoted states the UK minimum standard:

 

"The test must meet performance standards of ≥97% specificity, ≥80% sensitivity at viral loads above 100,000 copies/ml."

 

Ask the hospital if their test meets that.
