Lucky man, its not the same for everybody who's had their first dose.

Vajira Hospital has sent out a message saying that they will postpone appointments for the second jab of AstraZeneca due to be given 25 May - 4 June 2021. No reason was given. These people had their first jab 23 March - 5 April 2021

The good PM took his second shot more than 2 months after the first. I wonder if they checked to see how many antibodies he had.  I also wonder if this is why they want to squeeze out more than 10 doses in a vial.  Well that and more money.

‘Phuket Must Win’ must close

PHUKET: The ‘Phuket Must Win’ web portal for people on the island to register to receive a state-provided COVID-19 vaccination will no longer accept registrations from Thais from June 5, and no longer receive registrations of foreigners after Tuesday (May 25).

Vajira Hospital in Bangkok announced the postponement of second doses of the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine that had been scheduled for May 25 to June 4.  The announcement doesn't give any new date for the future vaccinations, and doesn't appear to give any reason for the postponement.

The Thai government has been insisting that the first of its millions of doses of the locally produced AstraZeneca vaccine will begin arriving on schedule starting in June, despite some recent local news media reports suggesting the local production is behind schedule and will fall short of its initial production goals.

I wonder why the left hand of the doctor always conveniently covers the needle touching the skin. Same with Chompoo. Same with Anutin.

These public vaccinations are just silly PR stunts IMO.

For Astra Zeneca they found it is more effective if second shot is given much later. In Europe second shots have also been postponed to 4-5 moths later. Maybe Sinovac is similar?

High figures again 2.5k+, the new norm a sad reality that the situation is still not under control.

FWIW, in the past 7 days up through today, the official reports have had FOUR days with the total case counts above the 3,000 mark, and THREE days below it, including today. Before today, the prior three days in a row had had 3,000+ daily totals.

I believe the government here has also said at some points that they wanted to prioritize first doses because those provide significant protection against serious illness and death, even though not as much as after receiving a full second dose.

In the case of Vajira, it could be either of those kinds of things, or, it could be something else. The fact they didn't give any reason for the postponement kind of leaves it open to speculation.

And if the reason was to maximize dose effectiveness  as you suggest, and nothing else, you kind of wonder why they wouldn't have provided the new dates for the future vaccinations now, instead of leaving that unresolved.

Interesting chart...pretty amazing numbers for ASEAN, an area with pop equilivent to the US or Europe; less than one-fifth the deaths on 1/10th or less the per capita GNP.
