Pattaya's deputy mayor Manote Nongyai told Sophon Cable TV on Facebook that registration for Covid-19 vaccine for at risk groups begins in local government centers today.

People can register at society development offices, public health volunteer offices and 42 local offices.

Manote said this was just registration - people would find out where and when they could get their jabs when stocks become available next month.

Sophon said that already 20,000 jabs had been administered at five centers on May 21-22.

The aim is to get 70% of the population vaccinated ahead of opening the city to foreign tourists once again.

And just like tomorrow, next month never seems to come ....

Seems going to local office to register would automatically put you in an "at risk" group. Sadly, given Thai work culture, no underling dared speak up and suggest registering online might be a better method than this unthought out procedure promoted by the big cheese.

Good work, certainly Aussies are better looked after by the Pattaya local council than they are by the Federal government back home with a much higher rate of vaccinations.

Of course there will be people complaining on this forum, because that is what they do.

The Thais have also kindly extended the visas for us who can't return back such as us Aussies whose PM has effectively locked out tens of thousands of us in an sneaky attempt to win the next election.

I am very grateful for the way Thailand has accommodated us during this pandemic, especially during this B117 wave. They have a lot on their plates, nice to see we haven't been forgotten.

Nice people the Thais.

We got a new notification for registry yesterday. The one wifey filled in for us last month was scrapped. This time she can register but no falangs this time, she was told. I'll try through the hospital.

So does "people" include non Thais or not?

If so, can the non Thai people register with passports?

If so, where is the list of all these places?

People can register at society development offices, public health volunteer offices and 42 local offices.

Only Thai Card Holders at Nongprue.

If after living many years where you are and you still don't know where they are it might be time to find out.

Ask a friend. Of just look for the big signs out the front of them all.

If that fails call your embassy and see if they will show you.

Hope that helps.

"Manote said this was just registration - people would find out where and when they could get their jabs when stocks become available next month."

So he seems to indicate that Pattaya won't get any vaccine this month, not even for high risk groups. That's pretty disgusting.

At least they had it outside ! The sad part about the lines and over crowding at these "events" is the musical chair system, seat changing procedure ! Welcome to the fomite express line !

First jab only or both?

Please clarify

and the vaccine center last week was a disaster with people fighting over spaces, this was a superspreader event and one of their own making - just crazy and careless

They seem to think that once that jab is in the arm you are immediately protected - this is nonsense - it takes 3-4 weeks to build any sort of protection and even then it is still limited until the 2nd jab

They are making a real ####### of this at every stage

And the second Jabs have been muted as being given at 12 weeks now and not 10 weeks ( think thats right ), so there is less pressure on the Vaccines being delivered.

Also there are mumblings about getting 12 shots out of a Vaccine vial instead of the recommended 10 shots to save costs.

A very sorry and pathetic state of affairs.

I think the word is complaininitis.

They are consistent though, day after day, and whether is is good news or bad news doesn't make the slightest difference.

It might be a chemical imbalance in the brain?

Interesting comment.

How many Australians have been vaccinated in Australia?  How many Australians have been vaccinated in Thailand?

So you don't know either, is what you're trying not to say.

I have lived here a while and never had cause to go to any of "society development offices, public health volunteer offices or 42 local offices".

If we put all the habitual complainers on ignore, they would either eventually leave the forum, or change their behavior.

No, there'd be nobody posting and the forum would close.

They might well still be posting but nobody would be reading.

Sounds ideal to all parties.

Yes, everyone would be just posting to themselves, because they are the only ones that can read it.  ????
