I do know I could never accept it willingly and without an effort to change the problem if unable to get erect anymore. Life without sex is unimaginable to me.

Why would i do that? My wife takes good care of me and enjoys my libido immensely. If she did not, there are many other options in Thailand rather than using ones hand. Although given your comment perhaps you prefer that method rather than using a real woman. Hard to say.
