Popular Post ThailandRyan
And yet they continue to work on the belief that this will be the new daily normal and all is right within the country. With this type of thinking they are planning on opening up the country in less than 120 days in hopes to revive tourism and the economy. However, the economy is now on a slippery slope as more factories face closure due to cases. Wish in one hand and feces in the other is this Governments view. However, the PM said it best just before Songkran which brought on this mess "What will be will be", such positive thinking. 11

Indeed. For those supporting tourism, that is a boost. on the negative side, Spain’s islands were moved to green. So it’s a couple of hours flight to islands that are open, no need for tests and no quarantine on the way back, or a 16 hour haul to a closed island with 4/5 tests and house quarantine on the way back. Obviously they think that they are sub human or something. It just came about.... they were obviously a forgotten group for a time, and when it became apparent Covid was in the jails, the numbers needed to be added. That caused a very unpalatable jump in new infections creating fear and worry.... So to soften that, prisoner infection numbers were listed separately.. and there it was. Today 162 were from prisons, and 3482 in the 'general' population. We no longer have a separate number for cases discovered in quarantine from other countries. But the government seems to feel it’s the other way round. Plenty of test kits to give to tourists, but not so much for Thai’s. That’s just so boring. so much more exciting to be on the cutting edge of creating overpowered techniques to control a measly few tourists. Control techniques that will undoubtedly erode quickly, as they in turn become boring. Nothing lasts longer than a week in the thai government world. 10
