Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis vaccine, where in Chiang Mai?

Featured Replies

Allegedly we are supposed to refresh the Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis vaccine every 10 years. Last time I had this was more than 20 years ago already, so I guess it's time.

Where did you get this vaccine and how much did you pay? Goverment hospital would probably be the cheapest, but I don't want to spend a day there, so I'm looking for a quick and cheap place to get it. Somewhere in the city area.

I went to a small local government hospital and included in my visit was a tetanus shot, I also have not had one for many years... my total bill was 90 baht... and included other things...

I don't know that it is available in one of the many many clinics around, but I doubt it would be expensive at a private hospital???

Yes, government hospital is for sure the cheapest option, but usually a visit to a government hospital is quite time consuming... so spending a few hundred Baht extra to skip the waiting time is OK.

When doing it in a private hospital they probably charge 1000THB just for the doctor and nurse fee alone, not even including the vaccine, while at some clinic they might charge only 100THB for the same service. This would already be a saving of 900THB.

Of course, that's just 900THB which won't break the bank, but I don't like to waste money if I can get the same for cheaper, which is why I asked here.

Maybe some other people have experiences with prices in private hospitals or clinics.

yes, by all means seek out a clinic... if they have it, it will be fast and cheaper...

I was in Dr Morgan's Clinic earlier this week, whilst there I enquired about a Tetanus Vacc - yes they have them at the clinic and can do immediately - I elected to come back next week as I have a very bust schedule for that day.

I did notice signs for other jabs, but I don't recall what they were right now

Any of the major hospitals in town would have it, likely a lot of clinics too. It should be very easy to find.

I can't give you a price. I did mine along with a number of other 'travel vaccinations' in 2019. This was at BKK Hospital, one of the more expensive in town, I thought it very reasonable at the time.

I had to take my girlfriend to the hospital, and I used this opportunity to just get the vaccine (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis in one syringe) there.

At Nakornping Hospital it took about 3 hours until I was done, cost was 608THB for the vaccine and 25THB nurse fee, the vaccine was "GSK Boostrix".

Maybe this information helps somebody in the future, I still don't know how much private clinics charge.
