Deputy commander of the metropolitan police Pol Maj-Gen Samran Nuanma sent in his minions after the force received information about a big drugs gang operating in western Bangkok.

They received notification about a Toyota Altis with Bangkok plates being used to deliver drugs.

This led to a man acting suspiciously. He was 38 year old Nigerian national Paschal N. who was arrested outside building 39 in the Bang Khun Thian projects.

In Room 11 on the second floor officers found 7,140 ecstasy tablets hidden in cardboard boxes for camera equipment.

Paschal denied everything.

But police said he was part of a gang that has been delivering drugs to partygoers in the Rama 2 area of the Thai capital for a year and more, reported Daily News.

He was charged with possession and dealing in a Class 1 narcotic and detained.

No, it's not time to do that but it is time that they started questioning every suspicious Nigerian.

Nigeria is one of Thailand's most important trading partners so making visas harder to obtain for their nationals will never happen.   The vast majority of Nigerians are legitimate even though the only ones that are reported on here are the scammers and drug dealers.

One of Thailand's largest trading partners ? Not according to the 2020 trading figures they were not, didn't even figure in the top 15. That aside I agree that many Nigerians are all above board and like all the wrong ones from any country, it is they that make the headlines from which people then tend to generalise.

I didn't say that Nigeria was one of the largest, I said that it was one of the most important.

And i quoted the 15th most important so hardly Nigeria can be considered important. Just facts if course that you may chose to deny. Unless you can provide a relevent link to support your statement

Is it about time they raided every Nigerian staying in Thailand ? And started making visas for Nigerians even harder to obtain. Odds from continuing stories on TV and this new one appear to show that probably 50% would be arrested and deported.

As usual, when things seem odd, follow the money. They fill a niche for some people and some crooked officials, so maybe they are tolerated a little bit.

Not only will he spend a significant part of his life in a Thai jail,if convicted ,he'll be eligible for one of those vaccines that some are so desperately looking for, unless of course he got his shots already while in origin country !

Just facts?

Those weren't the government's trading figures showing trading both ways between Nigeria and Thailand, they were some export only figures showing Thailand's export figures, produced by some private website called "World's Top Exports" (?).   Who are they and where are the reciprocal trading figures between Nigeria and Thailand that are all part of being trading partners that are also part of the facts?

Look for them yourself. And when you can justify your  original comment, post them. I won't hold my breath though.

repeating your earlier post ????

No, nothing in that comment was a repetition of anything in my previous comments except the phrase "trading partners".

That you don't agree with something that the Thai and Nigerian governments have stated on a number of occasions is fine, you stick to your opinion, that's what a forum is all about.

You have posted no links to support your incredulous statements. Please post any link that supports it. Facts though not unproven or unlinked statements.

That chap is in a spot of bother now. I don't know how long his sentence will be but he won't be coming out anytime soon, that's for sure.

He meant that Nigerians are one of Thailands largest "trafficking" partners.  He got lost in the semantics.

It could. conceivably be transaction partners, taking into account the many thousands of Thai womeon that are scammed into making transactions towards the Nigerian online love scams.

The only way that they could be considered as a main trading partner is if you looked at individual business sectors, like prostitution.
i would believe that they are a main partner in that particular trade!  Look at all the Nigerian and other African whores that infested Sukhumvit pre-covid.
