COVID-19 infections in Thailand could surge to 10,000 a day next week, CCSA says

New COVID-19 infections could surge to 10,000 a day next week, almost doubling this week’s daily figures as more Delta variant cases have been found, according to the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).

PHUKET: Despite foreigners in Phuket reporting varied success in being vaccinated through the ongoing government mass-vaccination campaign, Pracha Asawateera, the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) Area Manager for all of Southern Thailand, has assured that the vaccination of foreigners in Phuket is still going and will continue as long as vaccine doses continue to be supplied to the province.

First tourist under ‘Phuket Sandbox’ reopening test positive for COVID-19

Thailand has recorded the first case of COVID-19 among foreign tourists entering the kingdom through the resort island of Phuket under the “Phuket Sandbox” scheme, which has been welcoming fully vaccinated and COVID-negative international arrivals without entering a quarantine since July 1st.

Nigerian and Thai nationals arrested in Pattaya for allegedly committing an online romance scam in Thailand, Nigerian man jumped out of third floor window to try to escape police

Pattaya – A Nigerian national and a Thai female national, 23, were arrested in the Pattaya area yesterday, July 6th, after allegedly jointly committing an online romance scam in Thailand.

Californian surfers rescued in Prachuap Bay after being blown 1km out to sea

Rescue services in Muang district of Prachuap Khirikhan and local police with the assistance of jetskis from the harbor department swung into action yesterday afternoon when some people on surfboards got into trouble in the bay.

Six Myanmar illegals and a baby caught after crossing a natural border into Prachuap Khiri Khan

Naew Na reported that Pol Col Samer Yusamran of the Muang Prachuap Khiri Khan police, DOPA officials, soldiers and other officials had arrested six Myanmar nationals who had sneaked across the border into Thailand.

Phang Nga students studying in Phuket granted vaccinations, free tests

More Thais are suffering from stress and are feeling hopeless and exhausted due to the new wave of the coronavirus pandemic, which started in April this year, than earlier this year, according to Thailand’s Mental Health Department.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's health ministry said on Thursday it had proposed new travel curbs and tighter restrictions in high-risk areas to contain COVID-19 cases, as the country reported a daily record of 75 deaths from the coronavirus.
