New COVID-19 infections could surge to 10,000 a day next week, almost doubling this week’s daily figures as more Delta variant cases have been found, according to the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).

PHUKET: Despite foreigners in Phuket reporting varied success in being vaccinated through the ongoing government mass-vaccination campaign, Pracha Asawateera, the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) Area Manager for all of Southern Thailand, has assured that the vaccination of foreigners in Phuket is still going and will continue as long as vaccine doses continue to be supplied to the province.

Thai doctors’ group submits petition to Parliament calling for mRNA vaccines

A group of doctors, who call themselves “Mor Mai Thon” (Doctors won’t take it anymore) submitted its petition, bearing 215,409 signatures collected on change.org, to Thailand’s House of Representatives today (Wednesday), calling for mRNA vaccines to be the main type administered in Thailand for free, as well as for transparency in the government procurement processes.

Forensic doctor says COVID death toll may be higher than reported by CCSA

Thailand has recorded the first case of COVID-19 among foreign tourists entering the kingdom through the resort island of Phuket under the “Phuket Sandbox” scheme, which has been welcoming fully vaccinated and COVID-negative international arrivals without entering a quarantine since July 1st.
