So "emergency" extensions in effect. That doesn't really apply now for most countries. So it doesn't surprise me at all that they are now being refused. But as noted, an agent could be the answer. can you fly home now, without the 2 vaccines ?

You came in on a visa exemption in March and wants to stay till October, so it is very clear your intentions were to stay LONG. Get a correct visa. Don't forget: a covid extension is in the fist place a FAVOR. It doesn't matters how much you spend, even it is 100.000THB/m There is no such thing as abusing the rules, the rules are clear are they not? They've decided they want all the foreigners out and they start with the low hanging fruit - good luck when it's your turn to get booted out by some moron supervisor.

I arrived Visa Exempt in March 2020. Half my passport pages are Covid Extension stamps now. Thank you @audaciousnomad for this. This is the exact type of field report and open sharing of experience that I'm hoping to find here in my quest to resolve my own situation. In other news, the application deadline for the 60 day Covid Extension has been extended to 27 Sept at the IO in Phuket. I imagine this bodes well for interested folks here who may be seeking one at their local IOs, as hopefully this would be formalised with IOs across the country soon. More information from a Phuket News article can be found here. According to the article, An officer at Phuket Immigration who asked not be named, but asked to be referred to as “Inspector Joe”, told The Phuket News, “The infographic is just to announce that the COVID visa extension will open further to September 27, as the previous announcement explained that the visa extension would be open only until July.” Asked whether Phuket Immigration had been informed how long the ‘COVID visa’ extensions would continue to be offered, Inspector Joe said, “I think they will further extend [allowing COVID visa extensions to stay] for as long as the COVID-19 pandemic is still happening and has not been resolved.” There is also a further update to the article - UPDATE: ’Inspector Joe’ at Phuket Immigration has confirmed that extensions to COVID visas are dated from the date the current ’visa’ is set to expire -- not the date that the foreigner applies for the extension. Hope this information is helpful to any folks in this thread who are planning to secure a COVID Extension in the coming weeks. Mormolin
@DDJJ, I am in the same boat then you. I arrived in February 2020 and I have been on amnesty/covid extensions since. I am very grateful to Thailand for those special Covid visas as I have an underlying condition and boarding on 4 different flights to can go home is a big NO for me. I am actually waiting to finally get my vaccine so I can go back home with reduced risks (finger crossed!) If you really have trouble getting the extension where you are, try flying to Chiang Mai or Phuket, do your TM30 there, and get your extension. By experience, those offices are way more friendly than the ones in Bangkok area.

To me, that seems dirt cheap. There are plenty who would gladly pay multiple of that for easy extensions. I think giving an applicant 60 days a pop and charging the standard extension fee is perfectly adequate. Keeping in mind that this is an offer to people who basically don't qualify for another extension and wish to remain in Thailand. What they should get rid of is the "under consideration" nonsense, as it doubles the number of in-person contacts for both the applicant and the immigration officer. Completely uncalled for, especially right now.
